This is a great place for vehicle alignments, they have pits so no worries if your lowered. Pricing is good as well.

Thanks for the info, and yes, i remember that article. Unfortunately, it doesn't represent how engines wear, so take with a huge pinch of salt :}
I wonder if it's worth driving out to Portland for the alignment, anything closer to the Beaverton/Hillsboro area that anyone knows? I was thinking about Firestone?

Not sure what you mean by that article doesn't represent how engines wear, Of course it doesn't but it also does. It's testing oil to provide an economical, and reliable means to cetermine the film strength characteristics of lubricants, by showing how much load, amperage, damage, and pressure resistance the oil can take. Also they were kind enough to give you a short guide for which oil is right for you.
From that you can get a good idea on engine wear in a long term or short term worst case scenario such a bearing failure. Another thing it shows you how important oil changes are for some oils. Unless you are a certified lubrication specialist or know one, you can only take this or anything on the internet with a gain of salt.
PSI does alignment, I'm sure their work is good, but I hear they are on the up side of cost. I heard about some Porsche shop oin that side of town that does a good job but again costs are pretty spendy, in the $175 to $200 ranges.
I know a few of guys from your side of town Beaverton/Hillsboro that go the Line-up shop. They can do custom alignments for race set-ups etc, and can do it on lowered rides that won't fit on alignment racks.
The film strength test used there isn't relevant in engine oil tests, at least, not in a complete test, yes, it's great for checking film strength. Check bobistheoilguy.com forums, full of oil nuts and oil industry experts.
Yeah, it can be pretty spendy, and it's always letting some numpty get in your car, but thanks for the recommendations, i don't think it needs doing just yet, thankfully.

I've never done this but I heard a bunch of guys on Titantalk do this they send their oil in to be tested this was on of the places http://www.blackstone-labs.com/ they give you a brake down on what's going on in your oil, and in your motor. I thought this was always cool.
