Looking to get a stubby antenna but am wondering if there's a point where radio reception starts to diminish (yes, I still listen to the radio). I am finding 3", 3.5", 4"...etc all over Ebay with materials such as aluminum, carbon fiber.....etc.

Probably going to get a black plastic antenna but looking for info on when asthetics are outweighed by functionality.

 

Find the nearest Honda CR-V or something like that and swap ariels with them! Nice and free!

 

Also S2k. Works fine for me.

 

acura rdx antenna is the best looking / functional one I've found. fits the base a little better then the s2k one. 6$ at your local acura dealership.

 

+1 for the RDX antenna. I swapped my Z antenna with my RDX, so now the RDX looks like a remote control car with the Z whip antenna.

 

I feel like I should build you a giant remote control...

 

what these guys said, if you go with the stubby aluminum like a Perrin / EVO type aftermarket type say goodbye to reception, best bet is S2K etc..

 

ive ran the rdx, s2k, and cx-7 antenna's...they all suck for reception. Just get an ipod adapter and call it good.

 

Anybody got pics of the RDX antenna on Z?? Does it really fit the base better than the S2K's? The CRV antenna seems to be a good fit as well.

 

2007 Dodge Avenger is one of the better fitting antennae.
Reception is he same as stock. It also only costs $6.00 at your local Dodge dealer. Here is a pic.....................

Almost 8"

 

I got the MangoWalk 2.5" and have to say the reception is surprisingly good. I do live close to Seattle so the signals are strong compared to if I were in rural areas.
