Visiting Vancouver... help!
What's up guys...
I know we have a bunch of Vancouver members here but I figure I'd post this in the "North West" region since there isn't much activity in the "West Canada" threads. I'm sure many of you NW guys visit Vancouver from Washington.
Will be in downtown Vancouver on vacation with some friends at the end of the month and I'm stoked! I've been wanting to revisit Canada since my teenage years.
Any restaurants, low-key grub spots, bars, and nightclubs you guys can suggest?
Group stats:
- mid to late 20's
- single guys and girls
time: roughly 3-4 days.
Almost forgot: It will be a thurs, friday, sat, sun, mon deal.

I used to go up all the time and meet friends in the "little Amsterdam" area of BC. Basically some cafes where they let you role em and smoke em. Other then that I don't have much for you its been too long since I have been up there.
The last two times that I've been to VCBC, I've learned a couple of things:
1) If you're a dude and want to get in to a club, you either have to have twice as many hot women with you as there are guys, or you have to bribe the door guy.
2) USD is about equal to CAD now, and drinks are still ridiculously expensive, so plan accordingly.
3) Tonic, Republic, and Caprice were all decent night clubs.
4) VCBCPD rolls hard. Do not fu[k around.
5) Doolin's is a pretty solid Irish pub.

just go hit up Granville street on the weekend, the whole street is blocked off to traffic and plenty of clubs on the strip, lots of people out and about so you can mingle away with the opposite sex, but beware of Ed Hardy wearing douches though, this town is filled with them.... unfortunately
also watch out for power tripping cops and bouncers they will fck yo shlt up if you even look at them the wrong way

Can they be any worst than SDPD or LAPD??? We got it pretty bad down here but not enough to warn tourist. Are there lots of fights and stuff in downtown Vancouver or are the cops just itchin because it's peaceful?
Any common laws off the top of your head that you find completely different from the states that we should worry about? We have some friends that smoke (cigarettes)...will they be hassled in most venues?

Smoking laws, basically like Seattle and LA, just go outside and away-ish from doors, and they'll be fine.
Basically, if you think they might turn you away, they will.
Also of note, cover is ridiculous, $20-$40 most places.
