Default The bump around the corner.

Bad news for me fella's.

I was taking my brother in law to his HS for football. On the way i turned off Liberty to Skyline drive in Salem as soon as i turned some goober in a 2000-2005 Black Dodge Neon flipped a U turn right in front of me. The only thing that went through my mind was accident avoidance. Luckily i did not make contact with the car but sadly i struck the curb with my front tires on full ABS. Now my allignment is out i got a donut tire put on a police report looking out for the SOB because he slowed down then took off.
The lis goes on... cracked front bumper and wiper fluid container. Not the worst of it, Now my fantastic stocker 18 inch rim is all discombobulated, and sadly my fresh new 245/40/18 Nitto Invo burst through the sidewall on contact. I highly recommend these tires, just not as wide as i got them for my stock rims. Some pretty bad undercarriage damage was also apparent when i lifted the car to mount the donut.

2000-2005 Black Dodge Neon. From what i can get of the licence plate it was something like 632-ENG Let me know if any of you locals spot a car with a similar plate, there were no distinguishing stickers it was completely stock and from what i could tell it may have also had a little tint in the rear window.

PS, If there are any people in Oregon or Border south Washington that may have a spare rim that i can borrow so i don't limp around town on a donut, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear it man. It's sad when you benefit both parties by avoiding the accident and they just leave. Would've probably been better to hit them, ha. Hopefully you find them and they get what's coming to them.

that sucks broham. you took a vehicle out of the collision and in turn, are paying for it.

every time I've heard these stories pan out, financially for your car, it's always been the better option to just hit the guy. still admirable that you avoided hitting him.

I made the choice to avoid hitting a van that didn't signal, pulled into my lane and slammed on his brakes unexpectedly. he had kids in the van, so I opted to hop the curb and crush a bus stop sign in my 68 Camaro. painful.

he didn't flee the scene thankfully, but the cop told me if I would have just rear ended him it would have been his fault entirely, and now the scenario is a shared fault/at fault issue instead. sucks how it pans out sometimes.

^ Exactly. Hate it that good drivers end up paying for other people's mistakes.

Ya it would have been a fun chase trying to get his licence plate if my car was not in such bad shape. The policeman that took the report said i really should have just hit him, lol. that is too bad for me now a deductible payment later i may be able to finally get a fresh new front bumper. Interesting enough i had a neighbor hit the back of my car so i got a new back bumper also. Anyone want to tackle my side skirts?

Thanks for the support guys.

whether you hit him or not you are screwed either way. Here in California if you rear end someone, 99 times out of 100 its your fault. If he flipped a bich and you ran into the curb it would have been your fault for following to close. I doubt he would be charged with leaving an accident when he could easily say what accident? He didnt physically get into an accident and could just say he didnt know he caused an accident. Either way I think you were assed out. For future reference chose a safe following distance and if the brake lights on the car in front of you light up, slow the phuk down. Have a good one

^^^

Thanks for the reply but to assume that i was following him too closely is wrong.

I avoided hitting his passenger side because he flipped the U turn right in front of me he was not in an authorized lane to turn around.
