ITT: you pretend like you care about stuff on a Camaro
Just sharing a couple of quick pics - had my car at VTR on Saturday to have my lowering springs, spoiler, rear vinyl piece and my stealthy mud flaps installed. Lots of little subtle changes to my car to make it stand out from a stock Camaro, but nothing too crazy. I think it's looking pretty good : )

bolt pattern = 5x120 = very limited options. I really miss the import variety of wheel selection! the designs are so much better for you guys too. seems like the domestic crowd likes oversized gaudy and bling. bahh, horse shat.. they have some decent choices if you want to drop like 5 grand on some wheels but I do not : (
thanks, the angel eyes are actually a stock option / part of the RS package. the emblems were originally the standard chevy gold type of color - I used vinyl to make them match the 'SS' emblems' red color. covered the Camaro badge in the same color of red vinyl, and added the little V flag emblems underneath the camaro badge (kick back to my 68 camaro that had them
).
trying to keep a theme of white, red and black throughout. I'd really like to find some black wheels with a time attack style stripe on the outter lip (played out, I know, but it would work with the car!), with some red extended lugs. we'll see. I think I have to save for a house down payment so car playtime may be over for a long while ;(

it's a heavy pig of a car though, just shy of 4k lbs. it understeers a little bit too but sway bars will remedy that.

These cars can look good with a little work. I personally am not a fan of the chrome trim around the taillights, I would paint that black or color match it if I owned one. That would be the first thing I did to it lol.
Nice work so far on the SS. I think the RS body kit from Chevy is a nice looking kit, if you wanted to add a kit to it. The dude up the block has a navy one and added an exhaust (maybe magnaflow or corsa?) and it sounds awesome. Nothing too crazy at idle, but WOT sounds great.
Very sharp man. Love the retro look. My brother has an original 69 z28 Blue with the white racing stripes.
Curious though, why you didn't go with the new mustang? Do you plan on tracking your car?

when I decided I am getting a new car, the very first thought on my mind was 'I'm getting the new 5.0!'. I really like Ford as a company, never owned one of their cars, but I was willing to give it a whirl. went down to the ford dealership and just didn't connect with the car. the interior was really bland and boring, didn't feel like a sportscar, felt more like the fusion's interior. the seats didnt hold me at all. traction was a huge issue, wheel hop out the *** through the first two gears.. and the mark up was the nail in the coffin. just didn't like the car enough to buy it. (and boy did they push hard to try to get me to like it)
my criteria for the new car.. something faster then my 350z, capable of seating four, stylish. in the end it boiled down to camaro ss / bmw 335i / evo x for me, I liked them all. I ended up liking the camaro the most but I often wonder what I could have done with that evo.. the handling in that car is unreal! it literally inspires too much confidence, you feel like you couldn't break traction if you wanted to.
I'll track my car maybe 1-2 times a year, special events with clubs and friends, nothing too hardcore, nothing competitive. I'll hit up the drag strip too. I had a 68 camaro so naturally, I have a soft spot for the retro/modern come back.
I added an MBRP exhaust and a roto-fab cold air intake and the car sounds great, it really rumbles. the last performance mod I will likely do is high flow cats. anything else requires a tune (and a tune REALLY wakes this car up), but will void the warranty, something I value for now.

friday nights I tend to wash the car in Mukilteo, so if that's when you saw it, it was likely me.
cams/heads .. would love to, but I need more miles on the engine before I even consider voiding the warranty. I didn't have the slightest worry about warranty on the Z, but I don't exactly trust american made cars yet..

yeah the LS3 is pretty awesome, you just pop your hood and hit the cam-ejector button and out it comes.
there's another thing that stops me - tuning, the ecu logs when it's flashed so if it's changed even once you lose your entire powertrain warranty. I really want to turn the 'torque management' and 'active fuel management' systems off too.
