I heard that there was a race day at Infineon on New Years Day. Does anyone have info on this or a link to the info?

Ya there is racing on the 1st. Its going to be the last day for a few months. Ill definitly be there hopefully i wont be hungover! hahahaha

 

is this a drag event like wed night drags?

 

This is a track day at Sears Point. The group going is TEAM racing, a Miata group. The person heading up this day is Bonnie Weatherwax and it sounds like it will be a great event. For $190, not a bad deal. Here is a link to the page: http://home.onemain.com/~bonster/teamevents.html

Just register and mail in the payment quickly because we don't want this day to be cancelled due to low attendance. Sears Point is an expensive track and these small groups simply cannot afford the financial hit if attendance is low.

The only information on that Miata page is for a 2/14 track day at Thunder Hill... has the 1/1 event been cancelled?

 

Yes, the day is cancelled......
The day on the 1st has been cancelled due to low attendance. The track costs around $14K for a days use. It's not worth the financial risk for the people who put on these events. I went to Sears Point a couple of weeks ago and the group, TracQuest took a huge hit due to low attendance. They do have an event in Feb as you saw. I was looking to Sears Point again.....


Plenty more events in Jan, however from other groups.
