ATTENTION ALL
The South and East Bay meet points have now been added BUT the times have been changed due to the drive time to the final destination being shorter.
Here are the details for the Bodega Bay Drive. The route has been planned and I will be handing out directions on the day of the meet. This will be a leisurely drive not a speed one. Many of the roads are narrow and all are 2 lane. These roads are also enjoyed by bicyclists and tourists so adherence to speed limits is the norm. YouÃÍl actually be able to appreciate the beautiful views & scenery then too.
The drive will begin at 11am on Saturday, April 9th. It would be nice if we could actually start on time which means arriving early for instructions and some group pictures.
** We will be using the Trip Computer/Odometer feature. If any of the newbies here haven't learned how to use this function yet check your Ops. Manual pages 2-8 & 9 . The directions I'll hand out will have mileage to each turn-off point. This is being done so that when the group gets split up, and it will, you won't get lost....hopefully. Bring radio(s) if you have them, set to channel 3.0
Bring snacks and drinks as there are no places along the route to stop that can handle a large group of cars until we get to Bodega Bay. There we will stop for lunch at The Tides Wharf & Restaurant. They have a snack bar to buy food stuff.
It's imperative for those coming from south of the Bay that you gas up before you cross over. Once we get started gas stations are rare and not accessible for groups. There will only be ONE restroom stop between the start point and Bodega so plan accordingly.
MAIN MEET LOCATION
100 Shoreline Hwy.
Mill Valley, CA 94941
Note: This is an office building on the EAST side of Hwy. 101. Both Mapquest and Yahoo show it as being on the West side which is wrong.
Directions:
From the East Bay: Take the 580 to San Rafael then go south on 101. Take the Hwy 1/Stinson Beach exit. Bear right and stay in the right hand lane until you come to a traffic light (Shoreline Hwy/Hwy1). Turn right, go under the highway, and the office building will be on your left.
From SF: Take the GG stay on 101 north. Take the Hwy1/Stinson Beach exit. The office building will be on the right side along the exit road.
Dave (whatever) will be coordinating the south/east bay meet locations.
Also the phone contact person on the morning of the meet will be Dan (neur0sis). Cell# 707-486-2656

Well, due to scheduling of events I am not going to make this drive. I'm actually rather upset about it because it's a NORTH BAY DRIVE for once
I hope you guys have fun... I'll be there in spirit.

I am. Feel free to harp on me (well, everyone except that biooootch Tony!) but in my defense, this is all Lance's fault.
