Default Cops on my A#$ - Cops all over in SSF

Just put on fat tires and wheels on my car yesterday and today freaking cops already on my A#$. I was in SO. San Francisco this morning and going about 40-45 in 35 and freaking cop writes me up for 55. A#$hole. As I am leaving SSF towards airport there was another cop with a radar gun.

Go to Fry's electronics. Pick up the Whistler Radar detector. It detects 3 bands all used by our local law enforcement. It only costs 39 or 49 bucks. It saved me countless times. And its totally legal to have a radar detector in Cali just no radar jammers.

I forgot to mention that the cop thought my car was stolen. Called for back-up then felt stupid to find out that it was a legitimate car. I guess he had to make-up his incompetence by abusing his power and exagerating my speed.

Thanks for the advise barthelb, I'll go to Fry's today to pickup the whistler.

Yes, a radar detecter is the way to go. Mine has saved me more times than I can remember.

yeah, it is a good idea to slow down when driving in tough law enforcement areas. My self, I have no front plate and I have been observed several times by law enforcement, but I have been driving slow.....and I mean right at the speed limit. rich, san jose, ca

Milpitas is one of those places where people get pulled over left & right. They are very strict on speeding & red light runners. Like pico, I run no front plates & I follow the speed limit. I have to travel there everyday since I work there.

BTW...I find SSF to be not as strict. You may be talking about San Bruno Police who I definitely see pulling over people.

yeah san bruno police are horrible! colma is pretty bad too.

as far as radar detectors, they only work when the cops have their equipment on i believe. and they can still pull you over just by eyeing your car and seeing that you were going faster than the limit.

the best radar is your eyes =p

o haha =(

maybe im just paranoid when i speed. because when i speed on the highway and stuff i always hide in between two cars (make sure a car is in front and behind me). because then it seems to me that it will atleast lower your chances of getting a ticket unless the cop is a total dick and hates your car and cuts in between somehow and pulls you over =x

and i check my rearview often, iono.....i got pulled over for doing 25over in gilroy on the way back from JGTC last year and since then i've just been hella cautious haha.

also if you see a cop and you are speeding, avoid using your brakes, that sends off the signal right away that you were speeding...downshift instead and pull up that ebrake a little to slow you down!

iono, those are just some of the things i do...haha

Millbrae cops are really bad. Specially at night. Lately they have been hiding in between parked cars in dark areas of EL Camino Real.

My girl bought me a radar detector for Christmas, very dependable. It saves my ace everytime. It ain't no fancy shmancy detector but damn it, it works. My theory on that, drive like you can/can't afford a ticket.
