Default Can anyone recommend a good performance shop in SF Bay area?

I have a 2005 350zr GT manual

I want to keep it N/A and within specs for my nice 5yr/100k Warranty. Anyone recommend a reliable place to plan mods?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Come to the "18th Sept. T.I. /RR" meet and you will see every shop in the Bay Area's work .Pick from what you see, some are better than others, you'll get that info there also.

I am not sure about that either, but I think its and Touring model with Brembo brakes.

And if you want N/A ask Ted about how you can get 20 HP from a nice little bolt on and some tuning on his state of the art dyno, I guarantee you he can do it!!!
And that 20 hp is everywhere, not just the top end.

My biggest concern is finding ways to tune without voiding the warranty. If you guys know of anything that i could do, I am all ears...or is it eyes?

Whatever

First off, you can't go wrong with either shop. Either one seems to really stand behind their work, and both Rob at Z Car and Ted at Scott Perf. are really standup and cool guys.

Personally, I take my Z to Ted at Scott Performance. I've built a few project cars before, and when I first talked with him, I was immediately impressed with his knowledge when it comes to building motors and tuning (down to the metallurgical characteristics of motor components and what is good/bad). I know he's good friends with the Falore's (Falore Nissan), and tinkers with their Ferrari from time to time. His specialty is Z's, both old and new, but if you talk with the guy, you'll find he gets his hands on everything from building custom high power choppers (you should see his 3 stroke motor chopper, insane) to tweaking and tuning exotics, like lambo's and ferrari's. He's also an authorized APS and Unichip dealer/tuner. Hope that helps.

Ditto what Nismon said and just call Ted at 408-988-2233. And do ask him about the Unichip, it's quite impressive what that and his tuning can do for your N/A 350Z.

Oh and ask him about his custom duel exhaust systems too.

Thanks for all the references everyone! I will be sure to contact everyone that I can to get all the information before making a decision.

I just spoke to Justin Mills ( Service Manager? ) at Boardwalk Nissan. He was saying that when you modify the vehicle, they will determine if the modification has anything to do with the problem that you are experiencing. If it does, you will be liable to fix it.

It seems to me that this leaves quite a bit of leeway for the dealership to not cover repairs. Anyone have any experience with Warranty repairs on modified cars?

BTW, the Grand Touring trim level is the same as touring except you get the following additions standard:

18" wheels
cd changer/controller (Not sure why you would want a controller with this unit, this could be a misprint)
Brembo Brake system
Transmission stability control
