dimebagdolf-
At your power level, that thing must go like a raped-ape.(my apologies to PETA) You're down there enjoying the weather and driving a smoking-fast car and I'm sitting here in 50 degree weather, watching it rain. I'm so jealous. You're very fortunate to have Rob, Vince, Rico, and Luke right in your backyard. It's been two months and I still smile thinking about my test ride in Bruces' coupe! It showed me what mine was SUPPOSED to act like. You have more power now than I had when I delivered my car.
Have a great weekend,

Bruce

Did I mention we got our first snow in the mountains Monday night? I'm going to ask Rob if I can rent a room at his house and spend the Winter in San Jose.

Wow! Congrats man The guys at ZCG definitely know their stuff.

Don't worry Dan. I'm still N/A myself but I'm working on getting FI'd also. In the mean time, I've just been installing supplementary parts that will go with the APS TT. Slowly but surely ...

James-
You just gave me a flashback. I thought I'd already accumulated all the supplementary parts I needed for my project. Little did I know. Cams, springs, valves, electronic boost controller, MAP sensor, harness, ECU upgrade......it never ends. I was laying awake last night thinking about the next round. Plenum, bigger exhaust, sleeved block, water/alcohol injection. Therapy would be less expensive.

Anyone that has gotten boosted in this thread...

How feesable is it to do some type of forced induction for under $10k? Honestly... Im not looking for 600WHP here, but just a little more power. Everyone always says how much of a money pit it is ...but if it were another 10g's, I'd just buy another car!

Tell him what you wanna do and what your budget is.

He'll be totally up front with you about what you need and don't need.

feasible, but quite difficult.

without divulging exact costs, here will be my tally:

APS ST
APS Plenum
SP Cams
Install/Tuning
Defi BF Gauges (Boost,EGT,Oil Temp)
Innovate Wideband A/F
A-pillar

I'm looking at a price tag of under $10,500. If I upgrade my clutch, prolly another $500. Keeping radiator stock for now, so if you upgrade that, tack on another $500.

I'm hoping to hit 350-370 rWHP. Ted over at Scott Performance is shooting for 400, but my exhaust may be the only restriction. We'll see in the next month.

So if you went barebones (no cams, no gauges) and found some good deals, you could easily do less than $10,000 and achieve the 325-350 range. Add a Koyo radiator and aftermarket clutch and you may still be under $10,000.

Dan-
I've sold my supercharger in the $3K range, and the install probably runs a couple grand. My ProCharger made 380rwhp without any other mods. You could also probably buy one of the single turbo kits, a supercharger, or even a slightly used TT, and install it on a stock block and be within that budget. You should visit Rob and drive Donnas car with the TT kit and a stock block and you'll be sold. Ask him for recommendations and discuss budget.

I saw the title of this thread and I had to say something!
ZCarGarage made my dream come true with my Datsun roadster.
Plain and simple.

Rob and Co. truly are magicians...and I can see it(and feel it!) in all of there cars

There is a downside to hangin' out with all of you boosted junkies...I've taken rides with Lou, Bruce B., Rob in Donna's Z(s/c'd and tt'd) and I've seen Chad's G35, Dave's G35, John Ngo's G35 and bunch of other boosted VQ's mix it up on the freeways...and now I'm completely addicted to that sound and thrust...I would give up my left nut to own one of those rides!

Well, I'll be down at ZCG on the 11th for Rob to doctor up my suspension. I'll quiz him then. I have seen quite a few deals on used Supercharger systems on these forums ($3k range) ... anyone have horror stories from buying used?

I figure I can probabally stay under $7k if I buy used, and don't build the block (no cams either). I already have the Plenum Spacer, Exhaust, and soon HF Cats. If I could be tuned lower (read: safer for daily drive) and reach 350whp, that would be ideal.

Hrm, decisions decisions...

Fernandito,

Dude,

I thought I had heard about your car...

Thanks again man. Hope to see you at a meet soon.

Gary,

Yup... Running on stock clutch right now and if feels great. Rob ran Donna's car with stock clutch for at least 10k mi. before he upgraded hers. When it comes time to swap mine out, I'll do a JWT clutch and flywheel. But for now, It works great.

I don't need your left nut, but for the right amount of money, you could have my roadster........ Bust out that checkbook! (I might even take the Datsun in trade)
