hey guys i was wondering... i took off the 2nd set of mufflers on my greddy evo2.. (the back canisters). i was wondering if this is illegal in CA? for the temporary time, im gonna be driving around like this. im gonna go to a muffler shop and have them cut off the original canisters and put in carbon fiber straight through mufflers. anybody know a good shop within the fremont, san jose, or hayward area? or anybody know at least where i can get some nice, good quality carbon fiber canisters for as cheap as possible? please let me know as soon as possible.. i dont wanna get a ticket for no back mufflers =X

If it's over 95db it's not legal (and with missing canisters, it will be over 95) but if you are just driving right to th muffler shop, you should be fine.

You might try Speed Merchant on Lincoln in San Jose, they have a wall of mufflers and can weld up whatever you like. They are more of a muscle car place but they respect the Z.
They have this Vibrant 1068 on their site
