4.5 hours with a group of people, no way. heck, 4.5 solo would be well above the mark I consider fast enough not to attract attention, not to mention the fat that the last three times I have driven down there, it took me 2 hours to get from the north end of the San Fernando Valley to Huntington Beach, something that should take 40 minutes MAX.

I still don't know what I am going to do.

Yes the store will still be open that day. Ive done the drive numerous times, driving like a grandma will take about 5-6 hours, staying at a steady 85 MPH the whole way there will get you there in about 4.5 hours, Ive done it in 4. The good part is is that we are located off of the 210 meaning that you do not have to drive into LA with the ridiculous traffic. Youll be able to hot the 210 from the 5.

I may go, (OT Rant) but there is no way in heck I would take the Mini

A) It's a Nissan event and even though Nissan copied much from the british back in the 60s, that is where the similarities end.
B) With the 175/50R13 tires, rose joint suspension and racing springs and shocks it rides like a buckboard. The awkward pedal arrangement does nothing for it either.
C) Its great in the city, its great in the mountains but sustained speeds over 90mph are not really it's sweet spot.
D) Regardless of its capabilities, everyone thinks they should be going faster than the "funny little car" so all day long I would have people speeding up to pass me and then slowing down in front of me because they don't like driving as fast as I was going.
E) Lastly, if it broke down in the middle of nowhere, where am I going to get parts?
(/OT Rant)

But seriously, I have family down there, I may go but I might head down Thursday night and catch up with old friends. Maybe head back Sunday night. It's hard to say.

So the tenative list is

1) 4myZ350
2) HyperSprite

I've done the drive plenty of times from Fresno, doing about 75 most of the time. It takes me about 3.5 hours. Andy's right, no ridiculous L.A. traffic.

A caravan should take 5, it connects right to the 210 and will save the most time.

I will need to keep the speed within 10 of the limit though, I just got another ticket today and I already did traffic school 7 months ago.

Probably 101 to Gilroy then cut across the 152 then down the 5. If any Sactown guys want to join the bay area caravan there is a rest stop about 10-15 miles after the 152, we can meet there.

Lou- RSVP'd last night. You don't have to pay the $5 to RSVP- you pay at the gate. Let me know and we'll sync up for Saturday. Anyone else planning to drive down Saturday?

Thats one of the best routes...I take that all the time on my trips between the bay and down here.
