Default p-51 mustang

A friend of mine owns a P-51D Mustang Airplane, but it's in texas. If anyone has any good ideas how we can raise some $ so he can bring it up here, let me know. Free rides for sponsors!

nice bird!

They are amazing flying aircraft, with insane speed for a single engine prop!

Charge at the door is all i could think of! it cant be cheap to op with gas prices over $5 for it.

Not to flame but this doesn't make any sense. Any 51 is worth 1M. even a beater. I know alot of people who own and fly 51's. Most are really cheap! Some are not. No offense but they are pretty much like a lot of airline pilots I know. Their hands don't reach the bottom of there pockets so they can't get any money out. So your saying that this guy can't afford to buy his own gas to get from Texas the Ca? Whats he plan to do with it once it gets to Ca.? Most hangers run $1000.00 a month or does he plan to just tie it up outside and leave it in the weather? Even outside tie-downs cost $100 a month. I put 100 gal of 100LL in my airplane on Sat. @$4.51 per gal and didn't need any handouts. Sorry no dice on this one with me.

Here is what i know. The guy is recently retired. I don't know how he got the plane but i do know he got it from out of counrty so he spent money on getting it to the states. Why it's in texas? I don't know. I just recently met the guy in his garage while i was walking my dog. He has a 1960 corvette so naturally we started talkin'. The plane is in flying condish, and he does have his pilot license. I don't think hangers are that expensive in this little town so i don't think storing it will be a problem. Apparantly he can't afford the gas.? That does sound a little wierd to me also. I'll have to become better friend with him so i can find out what the main issue is with him.
