Angry Poor Audrey is totaled . . . exactly 3 years and 1 day

Last Friday, I was going around a turn in Millbrae and the rear end slipped and pretty much totaled my Audrey. I'm not sure what's going to happen yet but if anyone has any pointers on how I should deal with ins, it'd be much appreciated.

How should I deal with them if it is totaled?
Can I negotiate on settlement price?
Aftermarket items covered? Can I strip out stereo & dvd/parts out after I settle?

I'm at around 90% sure it's going to be totaled but if not, I'll be happy. Can't afford another Z since I'm going to apply to b school soon.

I'll post some pics after I take some.

Anyway I can get a refund on registration? I just freaking paid $220.

if you think the repairs will cost more then the car then it will be totaled. you should go to the body shop and take out all ur mods and put the stocks back on before the insurance comes and looks at your car. every thing will depend on ur insurance on how much they will give you and they will compare price with dealers on how much they sell your model for. if you get money just get a civic or something until ur done with school.

Sorry to hear Henry... man, you've had nothing but bad luck with Audrey, I'm sorry to say. I hope you're fine (physically) though. Good luck with whatever happens with this.

Hey Shift. I'm so sorry to hear about your Z. Most insurance will cover certain mods as long as you have the receipts. Some companies don't even require the receipts if you have pictures to prove that you actually had the mods on your car.

I hope evreything works out for you!!

Sorry to hear about what happened, Henry. Hope you're okay. As long as you're okay, that's all it counts.

Let the insurance contact you first. They will send someone to check out your car. In the meantime, start going through local classified ads (craigslist, auto traders, etc..) that are in your area and look for Zs that are similiar to yours stock, but look for high priced selling ones. Find several ads, you will need them to negotiate with your insurance company for a higher settlement price. Aftermarket parts are not covered for totalled cars. You should strip aftermarket parts out as soon as you can.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions. I've been throught your situation before.

Here are the pix from the accident. So I was able to strip out the deck, speakers, sub, & dvd player and thanks to John who hooked me up with his stock deck/speakers hopefully Ins will give me extra. I should be getting a settlement amount from them by the end of the week. The key things that I wasn't able to get out was the awesome $750 alarm put in by Big Al and my JWT flywheel that was only 2 months old.

sad sad . . .
