Alarm install from Audiomobile group buy
Whoooo hoooo so I went down to socal and picked up my replacement of Audrey from Rie and it's like falling in love with the car all over again.
Anyhow . . . I haven't had a chance to talk to Big Al yet for another alarm install but I'm sure we can strike a deal for a group buy. I'm trying to replicate Audrey as much as I can.
I'll be dropping by Audiomobile sometime early next week to see what the newest security systems are but it's going to be with:
Remote start w/timer(neutral wire check)
Proxy that beeps
Auto window roll up
Auto window roll down
2 way paging
Trunk release
and whatever else I can't think of off the top of my head that was on my old alarm.
If anyone interested . . . let me know.

The remote start is 100% safe. If you're car is in gear, it won't start. Big Al did my first z three years ago and never had a problem on any of the functions. I'll keep you all posted.

I dropped to see Big Al and here's the deal.
Bells and whistles attached . . .
Remote start w/timer(neutral wire check)
Proxy that beeps
Auto window roll up
2 way paging
Trunk release
$600 for Compustar 1/2 mile
$750 for Compustar 1.25 mile
The alarm only has 2 channels so you can pick between window breaking sensor or proxy. I like the proxy just because it beeps to alert people that are too close but isn't too annoying that they want to key the car.
I used to have the window roll down but then Al mentioned that no one really ever uses it and since the remote has such a long distance, you don't want to take the chance the of accidently pressing it and get your stuff jacked. Plus . . . when I did have it in the past, I think I used it 3 times in the 3 years.

I'm sure the price isn't the rock bottom cheapest but you get what you pay for. With Audiomobile you know that you can trust them and no one's going to be getting your address to jack your car when you're sleeping at night. The install is very clean and unlike many shops that offer lifetime warranty on the install but fall off the face of the earth in a few years, I don't think Audiomobile is going anywhere anytime soon.
I rather pay a slight premium than have a crappy install just to save a few bucks. I had a problem in the past with the proxy beeping being too quiet and it was taken care of without a problem.
The Compustar uses the dual shock sensors so it doesn't go completely off on the first minor bump. Obviously if hit hard enough or window breaking, I'm pretty sure the alarm will go off already. I don't know about you guys, but the window shock sensor is useless and prefer to have the proxy. Tilt sensor . . . you'd have to ask Big Al about it separately. I'm going with the Compustar claimed 1.25 mile system. It's really all for a piece of mind rather than anything else.

sometimes i think differently, i mean if your car doesnt have an alarm people don t really care about it vs one with an alarm with proxy. Thiefs think since this person has an alarm he/she must have something good vs someone who doesnt have an alarm and even though it might be an easy steal but for what? They might think all we might steal is a stock car.
Worse things worse, if my car was ever stolen, i hope they take everything out including motor or do enough damage to have my insruance "total" it.
Do i make any sense?

It makes perfect sense. I've pretty much kept my exterior stock. The proxy is not obnoxious and the beeping keeps the kids, grandmas, soccer moms slightly more aware of the car so there's no door dings. I hate door dings!
I hope no one gets their z stolen . . . dealing with insurance is such a pain.

I would be interested in this too. Let me know what happens. Also, would I be able to use my stock alarm as well? I kind of like the fact that I can roll down the windows with it and its "added" security. Thanks!
