I was going to do the Sunrise tour, and was planning to drive in to RR in San Mateo with that caravan. Now that the Sunrise tour has been cancelled, I just wanted to find out if anyone is going from the Pleasanton/San Ramon/Danville/Walnut Creek area?

Somebody from this board actually pm'd me about this couple days ago, but I can't remember who it was, and deleted the pm. So, if anyone is getting together in the Pleasanton/San Ramon/Walnut Creek area for this drive, please let me know. Thanks.

P.S. On a related note, do people usually bring 2-way radios to communicate betwen cars in a caravan? If so, what channel does everyone use?

 

What time does the meet usually end? I'm trying to plan ouy schedule.

 

Right after the photo op, everyone just goes their own way... there's really no specific time...

 

Usually people bring 2-way radios on runs (like the Hearst Castle or Monterey runs). This drive (from San Mateo to TI) isn't too long with a lot of turns so I doubt people will get lost or need to wait for each other, so I don't think people are bringing 2-ways.

Forgot what time the meet ended last year, but you can guess about 2-3 hours for lunch/raffles (from 11am) and then maybe an hour or so at TI, plus driving time in-between. I dunno... maybe 3-4pm or so? Anyone remember what time it ended last year?

Alright guys and gals....
the meet is just around the corner.
Just a reminder to :
1) decide on what you want to eat by looking at the posted menu a page back or so. This way we can get our food served in a timely manner.
2) There will also a small number of local vendors giving away some products and services. It will be determined through a drawing, you must be present at Red Robins at the time of the drawing to win your prize.
3) Bring your camera
4) Bring a sweater or jacket (it may be cold/windy/foggy at TI)
5) Bring a 2-way radio, if you have one.

On the radio question, some of us do bring radio's and we use channel 9. It's really up to you. We come up from Salinas, but I do know last year, a good number of the group did have their radio's maybe used from the drive to R.R, but then we used them also for the short drive to T/I also making sure nobody missed the turn off. (And just to B/S).
