I wish I live in japan..."if you can do better than 180k, then they can't catch you...so they don't even try."

Sounds like someone has been watching Tokyo Drift too much. LOL...J/P

BTW...is that really true? I'm sure that the slower cars won't bother but they'll probably call one of these bad boys to chase you

Cars built 1975 and older do not have to pass smog in the great state of CA so muscle cars from the 60's/early 70's can mod up with no problems.

I do agree that tickets for loud exhausts should be across the board...Ricers with fart cans or Harley riders. I hear freakin Harley's every night and our place has windows and "party walls" that are supposed to deaden outside noise. AND our condo is about 100 yards from the street.

I think it has to be under 1975. My buddy just acquired a 75 VW bug and it has to be smogged.

BTW, the older cars aren't exempt from being smog legal, they just don't have to be tested unless an officer suspects that they are not smog compliant.

You don't have to go to Japan, that's the law here in SJ too. Basically there is a no chace law. Now CHP or Sheriff might have one, oh the chopper too.

I'm far from a "Hardley' fan but some guys at work were saying that in a couple of years that all bikes will be required to have smog checks just like cars are now and that they are going to crack down on aftermarket pipes, as well as carb mods for all bikes, which means no more (straight piped) modded new Harleys.

I've got a an 05 Harley and an F4i. Both bikes have cats. As of 07 I beleive all Harley's are EFI now so no more carbs. On the honda its at the end of the head pipe and the Harley had cats built into the front of the mufflers.I rejeted and swithched out pipes ,but kept all stock stuff incase I have to get it smogged.

im from the bay but ive been out of state for well over 3 years now and well im finally coming back for good when i get back from iraq. but whats this i hear about turbo's being illegal? i havent heard that one. i know emmissions are tuff but with a new z passing emmissions shouldent be a problem. and i used to own a 68 cougar. with a 390ci so i never had to get it smogged. and as far as i know if a 1974 or older you dont have to get it smogged no matter what country its from. well let me know pm me if you can
