No Problem .... you'll enjoy your car just that much more. Just watch your overspray. Maybe some newpaper or old towels wrapped around the thing you don't want the undercoating on. ;-)
Nice.....I just don't want to post that I grenaded my engine....
That's what the rev limitter is there for. You just don't want to sit on it for a long time. I'd say 15secs or more. Some guys will say no worries let it bounce all day long. I say after about 2-3 minutes you'd have a failure due to the unburned gases and stress from the high speed misfire. But, I really don't know for sure. Does anyone really know what would happen if you sat on the rev limitter for say 10-20 minutes.
I have done it on rentals back in the day.... it would just go dengdengdengdengdengdengdeng and watch the needle bounce. not that I would do that in my Z.....
^WHY exactly do you want to do this? It's safety feature for your motor, it not like you make power at those revs anyways.
Personally, I wouldn't. I was just wondering what Nissan did as far as safety for our cars. I see a lot of guys at the track bouncing off their limiters and wondered what it did long term to the motor.
