I hate the Friday night timing cause it's the end of the week and my car looks like crap. It was soooo dirty! I think the front wheels were black. 
Wifey and I drove to the coast last Sunday and it was partly rainy and I did not wash it all week.
You guys prolly think i never wash my car! But I work at a start-up and get done with work at 6:00 PM-ish, even on friday nights, and there's no day-light. My car's usually clean on Saturdays tho.
In fact, I did a 3-step wax process on Saturday/Sunday and it looks good now. But it'll look like ish again by friday night I'm sure! we should change to Saturdays just to suit my schdule

remember spray detailer is your friend
I use it all the time in between washes provided the car is not super dirty
Looking west out the window in down town San Jose, it is dry all the way to the mountains but looks rainy over there. The way the clouds are moving it is hard to say how wet it is going to be.
I'm gonna try and be there by 10:00pm regardless and see how things go.
