The meeting at Nordstrom was a good get together and chat session, but the rest of the day was a lot of bad luck for many of us.

1st: It was a little wet on the roads (Not too bad)
2nd: About 10+ cars got pulled over by CHP / Sheriff for stupid stuff like no lic plates / window tint. (Delayed the run for over an hour)
3rd: We had a little fender bender during the process of staying away from the police. OUCH!!! WTF

We ended up just heading right back home as soon as the coast was clear from the CHP's.

Many of us think that someone set us up with all of the CHP's and Sheriffs waiting for us on the run. I hate to say this but, it could be a possibility that someone on this forum and/or the G35 forum works with some type of law enforcement. Just go under the threads about "speeding" "tickets", and "Lidar/radar detectors", you will know exactly who we're talking about.

That's pretty sad

Other than that we have a lot of cars attend this meet and it would have been a great run overall.

Well, at least a few cars did go a back way out of and got skipped two blocked ends. Thank goodness there was a lilttle side road. I saw point fingers as we past the first group of cops, i.e. no front plates on cars. The second group was setup down the road and this wasn't no on the moment thing, they had a group of cars there. A few took the back road out though. Yeah for those! As to the future runs, the routes should be kept till the starting point and given out then I think might be better, since it seems this is happening more. .02 cents worth on that.

It's a good thing you did not go. What a mess it was due to all of the CHP/Sheriffs on the road.

+1

Sorry to the guys who got ticketed. But while the pigs were busy issuing fix-it tickets, Shane and I went at it for the following 15+ miles of open road. It was an awesome drive. Can't wait to do it again with my upgraded suspension.

Here is an idea, use PM'ing for all drives from now on and invite those you guys know. Tell those people to PM only those they know about it, use major meets like treasure island meets to gather names online. I personally know who is in my area that shows regularly to meets I go to and usually PM or email them to roll with me......

Maybe make regional contacts...like south bay/north bay/east bay/sac...so on and they can PM people for drives.....

Ha, thats to much work but you get the idea.

I would really like to believe that we just had bad luck with the police on this run. This is the first run that we ever had problems with the law enforcement.

One recommendation is that we can just make a general posting of the meeting place and hand out hard copies of the actual run once everyone is at the meeting point that day. We can't let this one incident ruin the whole fun of things.

personally from experience, i try to stay away from ANY kind of car related gatherings in and near palo alto...that place is crazy in terms of cops pulling you over for violations such as tint, exhaust etc etc...

I just got pulled over last week for running a red light while making a right turn. How can i run a red light making a right? So i got pulled over, and the cop who gave me a ticket was a freaking *****. Told me i was pulled over for running a red and exhaust being too loud. Then he comes back and tells me he won't give me a ticket for the red, but will issue me a ticket for exhaust. WTF?? Worst of all, he told me the ticket will not be a fixing ticket. Pigs.......
