I went to this event last year in Fremont BBQ. I think I'll skip it this year. Take some pics and share.

Someone in a 240sx tried to drift, hit a person and a tree apparently afterwards. All my z32 friends left already, I didn't go due to work, good thing.

Whoever drifted that 240 was a dip shiet. I don't think he was just being stupid, he was also a show off, which resulted in serious consequences.

showing off in the wrong place = being stupid = car in a tree and someone in the hospital

Update regarding the incident:

First off Jason, the one that got hit, is doing better. He is out and posting online once again, however he last reported that he had 4 fractures in the head and was still under observation. Will update as he informs me. But things are looking good. He expressed that he doesn't blame anyone and hopes that everyone will learn from this.

Next is the driver, he is out pending a court date. Also, he expressed he was NOT trying to drift and had no intention of doing so. But rather he tried taking the corner in 2nd gear, along with his poor judgment he had a bad tire setup, luxury performance tires in the front(typical street tires) and racing performance tires(sticky tires), also he was late making his turn in which resulted in major understeering and eventually the accident.

Also I've updated this info on the site.

Hi. I appreciate you setting up these events, but do you really believe what you just typed? I saw on your site that you don't "promote" the activity, etc., but please don't try and give excuses (bad tire set-up, late turn-in, 2nd gear) for some punk driving in a public place like a complete as-hole. Was this a fuking track event? Autox? Were there people there instructing and flaggers? Then please, call it what it was - a complete moron TRYING to drift at a PUBLIC event who should be punched in the throat.

This is why a lot of the Z crowd stays away from events like this, plus the fact that you held a "NISSAN" event on one of the biggest weekends for Zs across the nation.

+1 on the pics... Couldn't make it out there?
Even if the guy wasn't trying to drift, he at least was trying to show off...
Taking a corner at 2nd, 3rd, whatever... Gotta keep that car in control and being aware of what's around are very important... He didn't do either...
Hope those who haven't will learn from his mistake...

I must clarify.

I only posted that, Not to excuse his lack of judgment of showing off, but merely stating facts that his setup was defuct before it happen. He should of known this before doing something stupid.
I posted because I wanted to get the facts straight due to my assumption that he was drifting or trying to.
He said that he doesn't know how to drift and wasn't attempting to do so, he was doing something else just as dangerous and unsafe and taking street corner TOO FAST.

I am not in any way excusing what he did. It was uncalled for and will be punished. However the driver does realize this was stupid knows he's got some serious crap ahead for him.

I do not stand for this type of behavior at my events. I try and make it known as much as possible.

As for this Nissan event on the MSA weekend was a coincidence as I didn't know about MSA until after we had set the date. No excuses, just wasn't aware. I was uneducated about how big MSA is until well into putting this together.
