'Twas a good meet with you John... I forgot to tell you about the guy who was bringing in a Rolex purchased outside the U.S.. He was asked about paying tax and said that it was a FAKE Rolex... The customs agent asked him to handover the watch and SMASHED it in front of the owner... $$$ Lessons learned...

Anyways, I'm off to the Warriors game tomorrow...
Ritz/John, any advise as to what settings to use on my DSLR... What ISO setting should I use? I guess I'll just head out there early and try different settings...

Happy Easter You all...

^ Supposed fake Rolex smashed Hard lesson learned no doubt.

ISO settings....speaking as an old film guy, the higher the ISO, the faster the film, more sensitive to light. So in low light conditions, you can still have some depth of field (F-stop) and still a decent shutter speed to stop action. The disadvantage to high ISO film speed is grainy pictures with film, though don't know the effect when you're talking pixels. I'm going to assume you'll be too far away in your strobe being effective.

Try 400, 800, maybe 1600 ISO. If you don't want blur, I'd say minimum 250th/sec. Better 500 or 1000th/sec for action, but watch your F-stop.
F 5.6, F-8 probably good enough, F-11 better, but say low light, no strobe, 500th/sec with F-11, you'll need a very high ISO rating.

Have fun at the game.

LOL...kinda crash course of photo 101. Didn't want to get too technical

Cliff notes:
Slow shutter speed = blurry moving objects
Fast shutter speed = non-blurry moving objects
Low F-stop number = foreground/background not focused
High F-stop number = more of everything in focus
Low light situations = need higher ISO
Bright light (daylight) situations = can use lower ISO.

I met this one guy who had an authentic Vertex kit and an authentic Ings +1 kit hes trying to get rid of $500 each for authentic kits but.... i'm thinking about getting the shine amuse front and maybe the ings sides and rear. not 100% sure. but thats what i'm planning.
