Watch out Jiffy Lube "Caught on Video"
Watch out if you ever go to Jiffy Lube. Here is a news report on NBC. Caught on video lying and not performing the repair job. It makes me wonder sometimes about my own mechanics when I pay $1300.00 for a 60K major tune up. (sorry I left out the new timing belt and water / fuel pump too)

jiffy lube once tried to rip me off..
came in for an oil change (not the Z), then the tech came to me telling me that i should change my airfilter as well showing me a filter full of dirt and debris.. i was stunned .. i checked my filter before i went there and it was ok... it could have not done that on just .5 mile drive?? i didnt say anything to them since i cant really prove it,i just told the tech i'll change the filter myself thinking that they will just put back my original filter anyway. never went to jiffy lube again.

This incident is a couple of years old now but I wonder what the outcome was.
I worked for Q-Lube in college for two years, 1997-1999. During that time, I was able to fill in at most of the locations in Atlanta at one time or another and I must say, those were some very honest guys at that time. Q-Lube was bought out by Pennzoil (owner of Jiffy lube) in 2000 and the quality went down the ****ter at that point. The T-Tech he is speaking of was introduced in 1998 and was actually a fairly good product for certain vehicles...just a pain in the **** to hook up and use. That is no excuse though and I cannot imagine any of the people in that video keeping their jobs. Too bad...

I had a similar issue a couple of years back with the old Montgomery Wards in Serramonte... They charged me for a coolant flush in addition to the brake job but didn't do the flush.. Ironically, I found out about it a week after when I went to a Jiffy Lube - the one by Westborough. They we're suggesting a coolant flush... Man, I went back to MW started out nice recognizing that they may have been busy and accidentally forgot to do the flush... But when the manager said I was lying and that my intake caused the coolant go bad in 2 weeks.. I went off like a M*****F***** on that SOB.. I was on his face for like 20 minutes.. I ended up getting all my money back including the brake job amount through my credit card company...
This is why forums like this are very helpful in finding a good service shop...

That's Fuked up. It doesn't surprise me tho'. I got ripped off at Goodyear when I didn't know much about cars, that was like 8 or 9 years ago. Now, I have my own independent shop that did my last Honda, and did my Z-roadster, and now my Z coupe. I trust these guys, but I still check their work right after I drive outta the shop, and park somewhere and inspect. lol. The last 3 cars cost me $$$ so you can never be too cautious.
