You need to let your insurance company know that you plan on/have aftermarket parts on the car and you want them covered. Some companies won't cover, others will. Make sure you have ALL receipts for all your parts and installation costs (if any).

This is a question you should really be asking the insurance company.

Allstate is the cheapest of all insurance companies when it comes to repairing a car so my guess is, you are SOL.

Probably not - you usually need a 'customized parts & equipment' coverage addition to get them to pay for the addon parts - otherwise they will usually replace with stock parts...

Yep.

Different companies work different ways. You insurance cost will definitely go up if you're going to claim aftermarket parts.

You need keep those receipts too.

a guy I know had a pretty nice modded honda civic.....had like $24,000 invested in it (24k in mods). He blew the doors off of someone in a race, then the next morning he found his car completely totalled in his driveway with 12 inch concrete blocks. Oh, and carved into the paint was "fast car" front, top, side and back. Long story short, his insurance company paid him in full that is the price of the STOCK car itself.........like 10 grand. He lost the 24k ....mods werent covered with his policy...was additional. CALL YOUR AGENT and see if your covered if not sure.

Not sure with allstate, but i was under the impression that you had to take out extra coverage for any aftermarket parts/ wheels you wanted covered under youre auto ins. plan. however if you have a bodyshop connection or if you were to go to the Right kind of bodyshop...

I think you can get away with making them believe its stock and getting the stock value out of the damage, so if like the hood was damaged they should be able to cut a check for a new stock hoods value in the end. I know people who have done this, it sort of depends on if they have someone who knows the car and if they take the time to look it over. Some companies trust bodyshops and if you know the shop they will work something out since they want the work. Or you will simply get lucky and they will cover it. Or you can flat out lie and say you bought it like this and didn't know it was modified and they agreed to insure it but thats risky.

believe or not, most of the insurance co will cover the mods as long as you have the receipts. i used to work for allstate for 6 months back in college years so i know it.

I guess it depends on what after market stuff (how pricey) you have. I had a WRX before and some punk busted my passenger head light. I paid around $300 for each side of these after market lights, but the OEM ones cost $350 each. And the insurance paid $350 to cover for a new OEM light. So in my case, it worked out for me. OEM stuff is pretty expensive, so hopefully things will work out for you.

ic.. yea.. i called them just now and they were saying that they have a limit on it.. i have yet to hear about the condition of the car whether its a total loss or it is fixable.. if it is total loss and they are not covering for the aftermakrket parts i will most likely to take all the undamaged parts like my seats and audio system..
