im new to the area and was wondering were/when are there like events for beginners and if there are any spots that you can safely practice

 

check out drift battle x on myspace there on mine. there basically incharge of norcal.

drift battle isnt happening much here since altamont raceway had to get shut down for drifting because the locals thought that drifting promoted drugs and gangs and a whole lot of other sh** so now we just have to sit and wait for the next year onto year number 2 with this crap

 

enter the motoring j style drift event..

 

Drifting is basically considered reckless driving in California. You'll have to do it at your own risk, in both the sense that you might wreck your car, and might lose your license. I'm not saying don't do it, but just know when & where to do it... use your own good judgement.

I'm no drifter, just my 2 cents.
