Default Billet Vs. Supercharger

So i have a billet grill right now and it has been great protecting my intercooler quite nicely from rocks, road debris and birds... But something that I have been thinking about is, is the billet grill maybe choking the air intake to my intercooler or actual air intake? I wanted to see what you folks out there thought. should i maybe remove the billet grill?

I'm not sure whether it actually prevents airflow, but as others have said if it were black it would add to a clean look.

Haha I appreciate you candor, but not really what I'm lookin for. I think the Nismo body kid is ugly as all hell (looks like a cat fish w/a big butt) but to each his own. And like I said it has saved my intercooler several times. I'm just wondering if I might get some cooler temps without the grill...

I think the airflow gained from removing the grill will be negligable, unless your grill is a piece of sheetmetal with no holes.

I understand guys... Honestly I'm not asking opinions of what people think of that type of grill. I really don't care (sorry). All I wanted to know is it going to help it breath better and be cooler. That's all. Thanks

honestly i dont think it does restrict airflow to the extent that you will notice.

I don't know about the restriction of airflow, if it's perforated, shouldn't be a problem. Protection pays off in it's own self, as you've already mentioned. Regular street driving no big deal, but tracking might be another story. Temp gauge will give you the information more logically, as if it heats up more when on. Don't know how hard it is for you to remove and replace. But might try it out, going same distance and speed and see if the temp gauge moves on you. If not, I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Here is one example of a way the grill has saved prevented a nasty, potentially damaging bird strike.

Billet grille giving your car asthma? Why not solve all your cooling problems and look SUPER COOL at the same time?! Yes! You can make your car breathe like a Champion Thoroughbred and earn major Street-Cred with this:

Yes friends! This is the very same quality product AS SEEN on: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....91#post5826391

Paint it black - more aerodynamic. Black billet grille will provide better airflow.. really..

Anything in front of a heat exchanger can hinder some performance...dunno know how much but most cars w/FI have an unrestricted pathway to the heat exchanger.
