Default DC sport headers

I was wondering if anybody has this on their Z already, because I just purchased these items. I just wanted to know since the heat shield had to be removed should I be worried about a temperature increase in the engine bay or any other adverse effects???

I have a set of DC headers installed and the engine compartment is warmer than with the standard exhaust manifolds and shields. I wrapped the fuel/vapor lines (passenger side) and the AC line (driver side) in a DEI heat shield. I also applied an adhesive heat shield to the firewall/floorpan underside to keep the foot wheel areas cooler. Headers generate much more heat than a standard exhaust system and you don't want anything to melt.

The DEI heat shields and mating are available through HRP World or any race car parts supplier.

Do you still need to wrap the lines if you jet hot the headers?

I would recommend getting a header wrap. It is going to produce quite a bit more heat, but not to the point that anything is going to catch on fire. I have seen a few melted wires, and hoses but as I said wrap the headers before install and it should be ok.
