Default Please recommend a good oyster bar in the area?

well, its almost time for our wedding anniv again...and this year, we decided we would try out an oyster bar...having had our first real raw oyster just a few weeks ago, we both really liked it and want to give one a shot.

so...if anyone have some suggestions based on real world expereince that would be great

preferred locations:

SF City
Southbay
Monterey area

but if you know a great one thats in another place let me know.

for us the most important thing is that the food is FRESH, we prefer a nice cozy atomsphere versus chain-lilke and commercial or overly done...price is not an issue but we dont want to feel like we are overpaying for some over glitzed faked out atomphere

so far, the one place someone told me about is called anchor oyster bar in SF...
i prolly want to avoid the usual fisherman's wharf areas, ate at the usuall places a bunch of times before and have found them to be a bit overpriced for the quality of food...

thanks in advance

+1 on Hog Island Oysters. Sweetest farm raised oysters around. Great with their Hog wash oyster sauce.
