Question Visitor info

Needing some info on the San Jose area. I am going to be out there for a work class Feb 1st-Feb 14th and will have 7th and 8th as free days. I believe I am staying at the Vally Park Hotel (work booked it, so warn me if this place sucks). I was wondering what there is to do in San Jose, where to avoid, what is a must do. Also, since I have the weekend free, would it be worth it to drive to the bay area? Thanks.

By the way, I am from cold a$$ Illinois, and I have never been to California.

There are alot of night clubs, and bars in San Jose. I would head up to San Francisco during the day and check out the local tourist spots.

We get no sea food really around where I live, any good seafood places in San Jose? Or good local spots?

Man Jose

For good sea food head out to Half Moon Bay, North Beach is decent as well in SF. Check though Yelp for places to eat. What exactly are you looking to see/do?

San Jose is the Bay Area! There is some history in San Jose that you could check out if you're interested. You could also catch a train up to SF and tool around for the day if you don't want to rent a car (a car would be easiest, but certainly not necessary).

^My geography is horrible....but in my defense, the info packet I got from the course said that the bay area was 50 miles away. I am just looking for cheap must see things to do. If you had family come out that had never been there, what would you take them to...that type of stuff.
