eh? just because the decals are coming doesnt mean they are fake. my old gt-7's pretty much lost all the decals. but i dont see any of the rays or forged engravings that you normally see on TE's.

the sticker on the right that says "rays engineering" seems to be put on a bit too high on the spoke... doesnt look so legit. My LE37's also have "Volk Racing" in raised letters in between two of the spokes. I do not see them present on these...

If i had to guess, I would think they are Rotas.

spokes on the other wheel without the stickers look too concaved to be volks, to me at least... they look like the rotas... at least it doesn't have volk stickers on them...

the ones with the volk and rays stickers look pretty real to me though... maybe he took off or messed up the old stickers...

Wait..... you guys got it twisted.....

I'm bored....what do you know?

I had Rays Volk White TE37 and my friend had Rota Grid... I know the difference...

The Lexus IS wheels are real Volk Rays TE37. You have to be a visual learner to notice certain differences especially when they are really close comparison.

ABOUT THE STICKERS
Volk + Rays stickers could be in different situations such as the original decals were damaged, sun exposure, chemical
related, aged naturally or rims were powder coated and needed to replace the decals and so on....you can tell the stickers on the Lexus are not original it has white background that blocks the green spoke(s) so the decals aren't placed in the right position with factory. I personally replaced my original Volk + Rays decals due to peeling off (aged). that is why I know if they are not original decals. enough with that...

ABOUT THE WHEELS AUTHENTICITY
PIC 1 ROTA

PIC 2 RAYS

I personally think that a Lexus owner would not roll with replica wheels they shouldn't atleast. Maybe some owners...But when you have a white IS350/250 + green TE37. It delivers a strong vibe to people to view the car (eye catchy). so therefore it is absolutely a bad idea to fake the wheels.... make sense...

Anything bigger than 18" TE37 (19" & 20") will have EMBOSSED NOT ENGRAVED letters. It will have the following (VIA / MADE IN JAPAN / RAYS ENG. / VOLK RACING / MONOBLOCK / FORGED
Like this pic.....

This message is to provide only, not argue... The TE37 on that Lexus IS is Authentic. Case closed.

Scion has the Rota Grid newer year version for wider setup. The spokes are concaved for staggered/wider setup, also to clear BBK or OEM Brembos. The TE37 staggered setup will have semi concaved spokes not too dramatically like the Scion Rota and will deeper lip (may vary with offset and width)...

I AM NOT A ROTA HATER, IN FACT I HAVE OWN ROTA WHEELS IN THE PAST. IF ASKED, I WOULD STILL BUY ROTA WHEELS ONLY WITH THE RIGHT LOOK. ALSO RAYS + SSR + ADVAN + WEDS IN MY PAST. WORK MEISTER S1 3PC PRESENT NOW...

Good explanation.

The wheels did look like they had been painted/powder coated. The Decals/stickers were a little crooked. I didn't spot the usual volk markings but at the same time I didn't get up close and personal with the wheels either.
