Default I got a front license plate question!

Does anybody know if it's still possible to get a ticket for putting your license plate on your front dash board, instead of the bumper?

Yes. Also potentially hazardous.

Wow, I've only gotten one since I bought the Z in Feb. '07, and I still don't have a front plate

I haven't used a front license plate in about 5 years and haven't had a problem. It stays in my trunk.

Because like you, they think it's a legal loop hole.

...just don't bother, zip tie it whenever you get a ticket and pay the $10 fine. It's a stupid law anyhow.

Yeah sucks, I work right near South SF police station too, but the guys that kept pissing me off are the SF irving st meter maids. Even way past 6pm they still manage to write me tickets.. and these are in the spaces where the cars are parked diagonally side-by-side with the fronts facing the sidewalk.

Can't even be safe parked in my own driveway either now since they've been doing these neighborhood sweeps writing tickets for cars obstructing pedestrian sidewalk access and while they're at it they'll happily ticket for front plates too.

and someone please correct me if I'm wrong but yea I think you do need to get it signed off at the city you got the citation. Either that or I've just been running into lazy officers who've been jerking me around >_<

Any peace officer can sign off a "fixit ticket", so you can go to your nearest PD station and have it signed off.

Tell'em you got a fix it ticket that needs a signed off. They should come out side with you, inspect your ride, and sign off the ticket if they agree it's been fixed, then do a burn out in arrogance (jk).
