NorCal Zs/Gs and Z/G friends
There is an open track day next Sunday, 13 December, at Thunderhill, which is sponsored by the United 510 Organization. This event is unique for 3 reasons:
1) Traditional THREE run group style, so you will get at least 180 minutes on-track with a high likelihood of being able to run in other groups given the current low attendance
2) 20 cars per run group maximum - currently there are only ~10 cars in each group
3) Mostly Datsuns, Nissans, and Infinitis - the event was recently opened to other makes and models to increase attendance (plus the organizers have a race-prepped Miata that they drive)
This is an incredibly fun and laid back group to run with. Sadly, this will be there last track event, as they will be focusing the future efforts on their monthly autocross series.
$175 is a steal given #1 and #2 above. All are welcome in any car and at any skill level. We (3 or 4 of us) will likely roll up Friday night, however, I historically drive up the morning of, so you can save a night at a hotel and leave the Bay Area in the am without much issue.
The sign-up sheet is here: http://www.norcalufo.org/main/attach...try%20Form.pdf
Maybe a little fodder will help?

Enough excuses! You don't need new tires, you don't need the BBK. All you need is the will to come up for some fun on a lazy weekend - make it happen!

There is an address in the pdf to send a check: http://www.norcalufo.org/main/attach...try%20Form.pdf
Alternatively, you could email the organizer, Peggy (peggy_hale_510@yahoo.com) and ask if you can show up, pay, and drive.
Rain never stopped anyone!

Have fun there, Scott. I wont be able to make it that day. This is a very good deal with tons of track time, so if anyone is free, you should try it out! And I am sure Scott will let you ride alone with his roller coaster!
BTW, give me a call - I have R888 tires for you!

It's likely we'll be wet again this weekend! There is a good chance that with my newly-found confidence with the roll bar and the fact that I'll have all my sessions on video, that I will spin out at T13.
I hope you are following me at the time so we can have double vid!
Thanks again, Scott.
I feel bad if I go on my 1 yr anniversary w/ my gf. But my track blood is heating up every time I see this post. I am negotiating, hopefully I can work something out.
Maybe I should act like Peter Chao:

The weather looks like it just may clear a bit for Sunday, as the precipitation is dropping each day as we move towards Monday. Start the negotiations!
