Default Sac area, anyone with Vortech + gears?

I am in the Sacramento area and am looking to get a ride in a Z that has a Vortech and a 4.083 final drive. This is the plan I have been thinking of doing in my car but I am curious how it feels, sounds, etc. I read posts but have no hands on knowledge of a setup like this and my '06 rev-up is dying to have some extra mods of the forced nature.

Anyone around the area that is willing to meet up and take me for a spin?

I have the gear as well, and I agree, its an amazing change from stock gearing.

traction is going to be an issue with those gears, especially if you push the vortech for more power. a lot of guys opt for 3.3 or 3.5 gears when boosted.

4.08 gears and a vortech is not bad at all. The torque curve on the vortech comes in really smoothly and gradually, practically like an NA car.

The guys using 3.3 gearing are usually the turbo guys because they generate more power allowing the turbo's to spin up. Not so with vortech....which is why I am interested in being in one before I splurge.

No, that is why I am asking if anyone in the Sac area has one. I would like to know first hand what the setup is like.

my guess is you won't find many since its not a good idea. the 3.5s will be fine.

I have the Vortech, but not the gears, but agree somebody might show up... and as to the flushing of the transmission, see my friend Rob, as it's his shop we'll be at and he does everything to do with Z's, G's, GTR's, etc...
