SEPT. 18TH Cruise/Run To Yosemite
Wonder if the folks who say they will show up , actually will? Perhaps in the future, we can set up a BlackOak Casino run or a Old Town Columbia Christmas run later on? So many places to go, so many cool & winding roads to be traveled on and over. Most recently, there was the MiWuk Acorn Festival up above Twain Harte. Pretty cool tribal cermonies and the Flatlander tourists were eveyrwhere.
Then, there's the Old Western Gun Fights over at Jamestown, or even teh Angels Camp evnts. Tolumne also has the Logger Festivals as well. If there were enough folks out there who want to take the time, perhaps we could organize and establish a local chapter out here localized in the Modesto/Sonora area and annex with a larger club such as ZONC. We could then collectively organize more runs out in this area. This is the club presently I am a member of. You would be amazed what can be accomplished if you got the numbers of participants.
On the 10th of Oct, next month, we are having a fun run from San Jose down through Santa Cruz and through Ben Lomond along Highway 9. Good road coverage, good lunch and great folks, all with the same interests, pacing along along some of the older areas & roads of real California history.
If Interested , check out the flyer at http://www.zonc.org
There's some pretty good couhtry over there. Folks over there don't know what they are missing with all of the sights and roads that we enjoy out here as well.

Also forgot the Jamestown Railroad Yard museum. Best of all for that winfding road experience, travel out to Cherry Lake. About 25 miles of curving, mountainous roads. This , you want to be sure that your Z is in perfect operation and have a full tank of gas. On the return leg, , the Sonora Junction or the BlackOak Casino are great places for chowing down; Sports bar or top floor resturant. Like I said, there are potentials for some great runs and times.
