10-10-10: ArtCarFest (Sacramento)
If you're NOT attending the Pleasanton Car Show (it seems everyone is, as they're booked solid already) .. you might want to check this out.
FRIDAY
October 8, 2010 Keep your eyes on the rear view mirror, because a parade of ArtCars is hitting the highway. After our annual caravan to our favorite sponsor, Amoeba Music in Berkeley, (2455 Telegraph Ave.) we'll make our way North towards Sacramento. ArtCar Fest is devoted exclusively to ArtCars, which is street-legal sculpture. This is the only art in the world that goes 55 mph. If you’re on interstate 80 on Friday afternoon you’ll see a very rare sight: a mile of ArtCars headed North.
SATURDAY
OCTOBER 9, 2010
ArtCars will be making the scene in Sacramento. Keep a look out for art-on-the-move as we visit cultural hot spots in California's beautiful State Capitol. (More info to follow).
SUNDAY
OCTOBER 10, 2010
(10am – 6pm for the
ArtCar Exhibit.
Other museum events continue until 10PM)
The Crocker Art Museum, in Sacramento, has invited ArtCar Fest to help celebrate the grand opening of its new Teel Family Pavilion on 10/10/10! ArtCars will be on display around Crocker Park, (located at 3rd & "O" Streets) from 10AM to 6PM. The artists who create these remarkable rolling sculptures will be on hand to talk about their art with the public throughout the day.
The Crocker Art Museum was established in 1885 as the first public art museum in the Western United States, and is located at 216 "O" Street in Sacramento.
