No .. they have at least 2 levels of membership.
Participant member - FREE, which is what you appear to have right now .. with the newsletters (email), and website access. I believe the invitations to special events will soon stop, though.
Member - $30.00 per year. Access to special "members only" events (like Treffens); Driven to Drive newsletter; discounts (10%); other incentives.
Passport - $80 per year. Includes Member benefits and VIP access to ES special events; unlimited admission to CAM; complimentary passes to CAM; Free admission to "automotive group" museums, etc ..
My understanding is that due to insurance requirements - membership status for participants is being mandated. ES had been successful in delaying the requirement for a few years. This has now changed.
The EuroSunday - Sunday "meet-n-greets" are still free with no membership requirements. (I'm not sure if the "event cruises" will be changed to "members only" type of activities)

Ahhh gotchya, fair enough. I haven't gone to any treffen meets since I typically have work, but EuSu I always love attending, though, when my 260z is done, I'll most likely be more active with the meets/shows/cruises/get togethers/etc. and will most likely get some sort of membership.
So far .. doing the "sunday" events works fine for me ...
I"m looking forward to seeing your s30 on the road and at upcoming meets/etc ..
Something you might want to plan for .. 16June .. "Z Car Reunion" .. event mostly for Porsche 914s and Datsun Zs (240, 260, 280) .. 9am to noonish at Family Donuts and Deli. Still located at the Northwest corner of Fair Oaks Blvd. and San Juan Avenue.

I've only attended 1-treffen. Timing isn't right due to family schedules. I haven't "officially" joined as a member yet. I can't justify joining as a Passport member. I wouldn't use 1/2 the features. I wouldn't attend most of the ES "special" events ..

I can't wait for the s30 to actually get going. Was supposed to start this weekend, but the people we bought our house from still aren't gone which pisses me off. But monday i can move in.
I might come to the Z car reunion just to check some of those out! Mine definitely wont be ready by then though haha

BTW .. the reason the 914s show up is because it's also called the Porsche 914 Reunion as well. The founder owns/drives both types of cars. He switches up for the different monthly event.
I show up in the z31 .. park to the side and just soak in the old school cars .. it's a friendly competition to see which marque has the most participants. 914s typically win in terms of distance. A few members from the bay area often attend. (These guys drive 100 miles .. just for donuts .. on a Sunday morning)

Due to insurance requirements, EuroSunday is required to implement some changes.
Anyone participating in an RSVP event (Treffen, EuroSunday drives, Photo Shoots, Wine Tours, Fountains, Concours, International Auto Show, etc ..) must be a MEMBER of EuroSunday.
