The insurance company is going to check out this week, so I'm going to have to wait.

Just went to check out my car today at the warehouse, the whole front end is smashed/flattened up to the wheel well on both sides. Seeing that I'm thinking there's major engine and frame damage, but the rest of the body is still good.

Oh man! Glad you are alright! But man...like what Bobby mentioned, kind of ironic that this would happen after you kindly offered up the garage for Z'ers to use.

Best of luck to what ever will happen with the insurance and all.

Man, sorry to hear that.

Like most people have said already, you could get it fix and sell it, or you can take the other route, mod the heck out of the car.

I'm not sure how each insurance company does things but I have heard that some will let you choose your own body shop and just cut the body shop a check for the repairs at the end. It's up to the body shop and the insurance company to come to an agreement on the estimates. Once the estimates are set, that would be your budget for repair/mod. Since most OEM parts are more expensive then aftermarket parts, I'm sure you can negotiate with the body shop to get what you want instead of putting back OEM parts.

I'm not even sure if all this is legal or even posible, but I just have heard people making a bad situation into a bearable one.

Feel free to give me a call if you need any help. Keep us updated.

I know AutoMax in Oakland had done mod work with insurance claim.....

I know a friend of a friend who spray painted his own Z3, calimed vandalism from insurance, and AutoMax helped him get a full AC Schnitzer kit and hood out of insurance....

I wouldn't do it personally, but an option for you none the less!!
