Why don't we have more active Z community in Bay Area?
yeah it seems like every1 is doin their own thing this year. a lot of people say that theyre going to events but bail out last minute. im always down to even meet up and kick it. talk bout cars over some brew cuz i luv that good ol' beer, or even go on a cruise. i drive 60 miles to work and back and i luv driving my z thru all the windy roads. so lets get some activity goin. im always down to go to umigo kart racing. i had fun last week.

will you be participating in the ZONC/ZCG Canepa run on the 5th of Nov? Would you be interested in being an area representative with ZONC in the BayArea? This could be an opportunitty in getting things started in your area. just a thought. ZONC North Valley Area Team Rep.

Now as for why we don’t have more meets as a community….
I noticed that when the economy took a dump, most of the oldschool regulars started de-modding their Z’s and selling them. Another thing changing in our community is that fact that we now own an older model Z and the people picking them up nowadays are the college kids. They tend to hang out more at frat parties or with their own classmates. I know that the negativity toward younger members that went on for a while also had an impact since they felt like they weren’t wanted on the boards, why would they expect any different from the meets.
The other thing affecting our meets also has to do with Facebook being such a great communication tool. There are a lot of car events that take place and they are geared to all enthusiasts making it so much more fun and keeping things different.

Big meet happening tomorrow (SAT., 11am-5pm)for all kinds of whip @AutoRnd, Fremont. Doesn't matter if one bails out or not, still the event is going down. Check it out, swing by or hang out!

Yeah, I'm 1 of those old farts from ZONC. Cause there ain't too much overe here - Modesto way, I joined, volunteered to be an area rep and am trying to make things happen. I have modified my Z just a bit. I have been on many great runs (5 Nov coming up as well) been to loner meets, been to shows, actually won a 2 ft trophy with my Pearl Z, and met a lot of cool folks with great ideas. If there is something you want to happen, you gotta be ready to stand out there and make it happen. Last year Sonoranz organized a nice run over to Yosemite. We got a little bit sidetracked at a cool car show in Oakdale, but it happened! That is the point. Get off the duff and make something happen. Join one of those clubs and bring the new ideas int their mainstream. so much for my 2 cents. today, its off to Galt for a burger show. .

The club?activities seem disjointed etc. Given PCA has 4 regions in bay area all of them active with regular organized activities including autocross events, track events fun runs, tech sessions it just struck me as being odd the Z community doesn't seem to be doing much to represent?
I'd be happy to help with autocross but it takes money, liability insurance, a few autocross knowledgeable people etc. Maybe team up with Trackmasters to have Z track day twice a year or maybe NASA to do a time trial and race event?
Porsche guys are just so much more active with race series etc. Plenty of us in the 30 to 60 range with money and a Z. Nissan is doing more to support racing lately bet if we got more of a motorsports focused club they would even kick in some help.

Patrick of CityTech (pchio on here) and his buddy, King, have set up a few track days over the past 2 years, and they both have Zs. Their next event is 12/26, which I can not make, but there is usually a good showing of imports and it's a fun event. Come to think of it, my next event is on COMP from them. King/Patrick - hook me up!
Mostly in Fremont & San Jose. We occasionally do cruises to Santa Cruz and other cool local spots and finish up with a BBQ. We use to post them up here but nobody showed interest so we stopped posting them
Man, sucks i missed the Karting at Umigo due to work
With the rainy season around the corner, that would be a cool place to get the track & back road junkies to come out. The last one had hella people signed up.
