I gave you money! And all I got in return really was JB pics, not that I'm complaining. I would predict more premier memberships if you did things like this. Even if you just got the vendors to hook up parts would be worth small sticker, no?

Ha - I wish! If they weren't part of IB, it may have been possible since the founder is from this area and I know him well.

Did you ever figure out why the Z weighs so much?

Hey Scott. Saw you towing the car back just a while ago. Tried giving the thumbs up but you probably didn't see me. Didn't help I was driving the gfs car. The race car looks good!

The weekend went great. I had a small problem with wheel studs, that turned into a huge problem when a few of them broke and I had to scramble to get replacements on Saturday night. Thankfully, Patrick (Pchio) had the parts at his shop in SF, so a 4 hour RT later, I had the parts and went to work to get the car back on the road for Sunday's lessons (and trial races) instead of having to fork out $500 to rent a Miata.

The scale he used must have been wrong. Does anyone know if the weights spec'd here (http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/s...rules_2012.pdf) are with or without driver? It looks like they are without the driver, which puts me at 3175 (after the race). Here is how my car sits:

Z with ~6.5 gallons of gas (took 13.5 gallons to fill), and I had some fuel starvation on a long straight that followed a high-speed right hander:

3076 without driver (55.7% front)

Full tank no driver: 3161 (54.8% front)

I still have to swap the suspension and produce a wheel solution, but don't expect these to change much, which means I'll be running a full tank of gas and putting some ballast in the rear of the car.

Haha - where were you? You should have given me the bird, THEN I would have noticed you!

The car was great minus some minor-turned-major problems with the wheels studs. The car feels good, and I kept my nose clean and graduated.

Here are some pics:

Friday morning:

From the top of turn 5 (I walked the track Friday night)

This guy put the RL wheel off at T15, it caught, and shot him back across the track and into the wall. He was ok. Miata was not.

550rwhp, 383-stroker Vette that beat me in our trial race on Sunday afternoon. I did qual on the pole, but they put us reverse-grid for fun. We exchanged the lead 4x, but I couldn't hold him off on the long straight away. It sounded gnarly (and the race means absolutely nothing to anyone else but we pretend drivers!)

Good Job, Scott!

There is always a ton of Miata carnage at qualifying schools it seems.

Also, that looks just like a buddy's SSM miata that met its demise.

This was coming out of turn 10 at Summit Point Main (probably 85mph at the slowest point) onto the main straight...he walked away with just bumps and bruises (mainly from the harness):

Thanks! Yeah, there were a few other bumps and bruises. In our final mock race on Sunday, a Mustang took turn 1 and spun back-and-forth 3 or 4 times in front of the entire pack. No race was ever won in the first corner, but many were lost there.

Ouch. That's why T15 and T8 still scare me.

Did they use the normal track configuration or did they cut it short? I ask because when my friend tested they cut it to about half track.

We ran the original configuration, which is through T8.

Mild turn of events. I'm selling (and renting until it sells) the previously-built SpecZ (https://my350z.com/forum/competition...125-specz.html) and building my "old" autox/track GoGreenZ. Second race is May 18 weekend, and I hope to have the GreenZ done by then.
