Hey Bruce, we got a solid itinerary for the 27th yet?

 

Well, I just got DSL connected at my new apartment. And I think for now it really just matters what time we're going to meet. Last time 10am was a little early for everybody, but we still managed to get down to D&B around 5pm, IIRC, and that was even though we left GGP around 11am. Which means this time, we're gonna aim for Mt. Diablo along the way, cuz after Rutherford Bar & Grill, I kept dozing off on the 680.

So here goes:

1. GGP 11am; leave at 11:15am

2. 101 NB->112->129 (I still can't remember the exact number, but it's the one that leads off to the east in Sonoma)

3. Arrive in Carneros around 12:30-1pm. Good place for lunch. I'll try to scrounge up some place names for us. No highway 26 detour this time, unless folks want to go all the way up to Calistoga on 101 and just head back on 26. Alternatively, we can meet up in Vallejo; IIRC there's a Popeye's off 31.

4. We should be able to make Mt. Diablo by 3pm.

5. Which means we'll hit D&B by 5pm at the latest.

6. Dinner at Mango Cafe or Miyake in Palo Alto around 6:30pm at the latest (that's assuming we take a break at D&B). We could also do dinner at D&B instead.

7. Highway 84 eastbound to SKyline Blvd into the City.

8. Wrap up at GGP.

I've intentionally overestimated the amounts of time required, but if anyone has a more realistic estimation please feel free to add.

I have class on Saturday morning, but I hope that it won't go the full four hours (9am-1pm typically... hoping to get out no later than 12 noon). Maybe I can catch you guys on 101N depending upon how far up you guys go (not sure where the 112 intersects off 101N). Depending upon time, maybe you guys could stop by Novato to meet me up at school (and give some of my classmates a site to behold ).

Where at in GGP do you plan to meet?

 

Meet time is set for 11am, leaving 11:15. In GGP, we'll be meeting at the Cal Academy of Sciences.

Hi Brian! well im hoping there are no more typhoon-type rain storms coming up *knock on wood* cuz that'll be the only reason i wont make it, cuz i am not driving on the 5 in a storm (traumatized from something in the past)... looks like this little girl is finally gonna get better and not keep gettin sick, 3 days of sun... yay!
