Default Taking off the front bumper ?

Quick question . . . how do I take off the top clips of the front bumper to put on my clears? It seems like if I pull too hard, they crack or I just rip them off and break.

Any ideas? I have to fulfil a promise to get these clears on before the person who got them for me gets mad since it's already been a couple months.

the center part pops out, you need to pry it up with something thin (small screwdriver or something)

i broke one of those clips putting my clears on. i ended up not takingthe bumper off and doing it from underneath. its not too bad. driver side is easy, 5 min. passenger side is tough, you need a tiny screwdriver with 90 degree bend

Hey guys! Haven't posted in a while...

I can remove the bumper w/ blindfolds as I have done so 3x installing and removing my Injen CAI.

How about having some sort of Tech Day at someone's pad? Dave or Jason???

Here's the Cliff Notes from memory:

1. Remove all of the 10mm bolts from the front lower edge.
2. Remove the 6 plastic pop-pins attached to the bumper cover from the radiator core support.
3. Reach inside plastic wheel well cover and remove the 2 screws facing up under the head lights and the bolts just beside them facing the center of the car. Do this on both sides and the front should comeoff.

The problem on mine ('04) is getting those pop-pins off. The pop-pins on the wheel well cover are easy enough, but the ones on top of the bumper don't seem to want to come out.

I lifted the middle piece out then I tried to lift the entire pop-pin, but it wouldn't go. I then tried to pry them off and ended up breaking one.

Do they even need to come out all the way?

The pop-pin center should not be lifted the whole way up. When the center is lifted the whole way up, it does not allow the outer portion to collapse completely. Examine one that you have already removed.. you will see what I mean

I used to take my entire front bumper off but it's so much easier imo to take part of the under shroud off and work from underneath.

Installed my reflectors in less then 10 min.

a lil tip on removing the clips with out breaking them.

grab a wide flathead screw driver and insert it under the middle part of the plastic pins. while you do this put your thumb on the plastic head and with you other finger pull up. as you do this relieve the tension on the clips by pushing the bumper into the engine bay with your knee. they should slide right off. it can also help if you spray some wd40.

Google push pin plier. Harbor freight has them for like $7 or so. Comes in handy all the time. I can have my front end off in 10min or less. And you save your plastic tabs bc these pliers are made for this without breaking the clips.
