Sorry, Whatever, I read your post quickly and I thought you were referring to my question. I hope you don't mind that I made an advertisement for the meet on zchickz. it seems like a very low traffic site, but i was bored at work and posted anyway.

Cool

Here's my $.02, the later in the day the heavier the traffic. Might be better to drive then eat. There is only one short stretch of passing lane on San Pablo Dam Rd, so it's easy to get stuck behind Mrs. SoccerMom in the minivan full of screaming kids.
So earlier is better=less traffic.

Hey! A meet I might actually be able to make! I think that's the weekend my wife & a girlfriend (her's not mine) are taking the Z32 to Carmel. I don't want to hijack whatever's thread here but, do you guys want to make this a "back roads to Napa" run? Lot's of twisties but as someone else mentioned, we'd need to get a some what early start to avoid getting stuck behind a SMV. May be to much if we're trying for a short run though. Either way I'm pretty sure I can make it.

I have the iten almost complete, but left it at my other computer...

Anyways, I should have something posted by tomorrow. If people don't mind eating late lunches, we can get a earlier start to avoid traffic. Anyways, I'll post my iten and we can move things around if needed.

Bixby, Napa run sounds like a good idea, but that would probably be a whole day ordeal. Anyways, let's make that the next meet/drive destination?
Do hope you can make it to this one!!

Shortcut3D: you can give Yobri the cargo net in person!!

Default Schedule & Iten

Here are the schedules & locations. If you don't feel like Popeye's, there are other fast food

restaurants around that general location. I figure everyone would rather get something fast &

chat outside by the cars then to spend 1-2 hours waiting for their food

What: East Bay Meet & Drive
Date: 05/22/04
Time: 12:00PM Noon
Where:
Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits
10 San Pablo Towne Ctr
San Pablo, CA
Phone: (510) 412-2289

Drive: From Popeye's we will make our way back on to San Pablo Dam Rd. We will take that road all the way to Orinda. Make a right at Wildcat Canyon Rd. Make the round around Tilden Park and continue down Grizzly Peak Blvd. From there we will meet up with Fish Ranch Rd which will take us back on to 24. From 24, we will drive East and get off at Orinda exit. Driving through Moraga Way and stopping at the parking lot between World's Saving bank and Jack in the box. This is on the right hand side. After the breather, we will hope back on Canyon Rd and make a left on Pinehurst Rd. Pinehurst Rd should take us to Redwood Rd. Redwood should take us right into Castro valley. From there on, We will drive on Redwood Rd. until we reach Safeway on the left hand side. Park there for a breather and that would be the end of the drive. 580 is only a few blocks away so that should be good enough to take everyone back.

For those that are from the South bay and didn't get enough driving just yet, I might take Palomares Rd to Niles Canyon Rd. Which will take you right back to Fremont.

So the break down.

1. Popeye's Chicken
2. San Pablo Dam Rd.
3. (R) Wildcat Canyon Rd.
4. Grizzly Peak Blvd.
5. Fish Ranch Rd.
6. Hwy 24
7. Orinda Exit
8. (R) Moraga Way
9. Jack in the box parking lot.
10. Canyon Rd.
11. (L) Pinehurst Rd.
12. (L) Redwood Rd.
13. Safeway
14. Hwy 580

Castro Valley Safeway
20629 Redwood Rd
Castro Valley, CA
Phone: (510) 538-3088

Bonus Southbay run
15. (L) Castro Valley Blvd.
16. (R) Palomares Rd.
17. (R) Niles Canyon Rd. (84)
18. (L) Mission
19. Hwy 680 or 880

South bay meet point:
Time: 11:00AM
Location:
Lion's Plaza
46875 Warm Springs Blvd
Fremont, CA 94539

Wooohooo! Just past the break-in point this morning! 1200 in a week! (lots of long road trips). And just got back from my second visit to Concord Nissan to fix that front bumper, they bondoed the holes/scratches from the liscense plate install and resprayed the whole bumper, just got it wetsanded and polished today and it looks better than new!

So I'll be there. Can't wait to meet you guys. I've got a couple of friends that are gonna try and make it out as well (one 3000GT and one VW GTI)

PS. Did I mention this car is DAM FAST past 4K, holly sheet!

Looks like I'm in!

Brief Hijack.......

Hey Starman, how was your experience with Concord Nissan? I purchased my car there and I gotta say they were a bunch of freakin idiots. (Told me the break in was 500, thought the unistalled front nose defuser from my aero package was a spare grill part, etc.) Hope their service department is better.

End Hijack.......

The trip plan looks good, but is the Popeye's address 10 San Pablo AVE??? Couldn't find 10 San Pablo Towne Ctr
on mapquest. What other fast food joints are in the area?
BTW, nice meeting point for the South Bay group, thats two miles from my house!

Hijack reply:
Yeah, I found the same thing, Carol Lee the Fleet Manager was a bit of a ditz. I had to inform HER that the breakin was 1200mi under 4K. She didn't know sheit about cars. The ONLY reason I went with Concord is because they were the only ones in the area that were able to produce a DB Perf model. Service there is excellent though (so far), they hooked me up nicely with the bumper repairs. Even though Carol Lee didn't think they were legally suppose to fix the holes cuz its the law you have to have front plates (I knew better that they'd have to respray and could easily bondo those holes!). Anyway, I'm happy with my Z!
End Hijack reply

Hey Whatever,
I've got a question on the Grizzly Peak/Wild Cat Canyon part of the run. They parallel each other for a while in a very residential neighborhood, traffic will be heavy and slow. If we turn left onto Shasta and then left on to Golf Course Dr we can avoid the residental part and stay pretty much in the park. GCD then intersects GPB and goes on to FRR. It's easy to make a wrong turn cause the intersections aren't marked clearly, it is Berkeley!

You are right. I do remember some of the road on there are pretty narrow with houses on each side of the road. I just looked at the map and pick the biggest road, Since I don't usually look at the street name when I'm driving around there, just keep turning until I get to the bottom of the hill
let's go with your directions.
