Ouch! Brings back bad memories of what happened to my Z...
Almost the same thing... Came back from shopping and that was there waiting for me...
Did they leave a note, or was it a Hit n Run Bastard?

It was a hit/run so there is no way of knowing the culprit. What really sucks is that I was even parked on the end so only one side of the Z was vulnerable and it still didn't prevent some $hithead from hitting me.

Thanks Henry. Sorry I can't make the bbq. I think my dent might be a little too big to be fixed like that. What do you guys think? Not sure if I could get by with a quick fix on this. Sorry, not trying to hijack this thread, just looking for some input.

Damn Sean.... was this at work? Is there a lot of traffic that comes in and out of the parking lot (knowing this might help narrow the culprit pool down)? Sorry about that man...

ouch!

Talk to your insurance about comprehensive if you have it in your coverage. If you have a high deductible, it is better off to pay out of pocket. Usually they do not raise your rates if it is up to a certain amount of damage and if it is not your fault.

good luck man!

Kosta, Dexter, Bruce, Brian, and everyone, thanks so much for the support and all of the suggestions. I'm going to check out a few bodyshops for estimates and decide what my best options are. This incident happenned at the outlet stores in Gilroy. I was there all day doing research, so there is no way of knowing who or when it happenned. Thanks again for the support!

Corsair, if you insurance is in California (I seem to remember you had out-of-state plates), then a hit and run cannot raise your rates since it is not your fault. You are only out your deductible.

Also, if it happened in the outlet's parking lot, you should ask to see their security videos, but don't wait too long because they recycle them. I am sure at least one camera may have picked it up. There was a thread on this board about someone who caught vandals after looking at the security video. They could even read the license plate number.

Good luck.

Oh wow Sean, that sucks! I'm guessing about $1700.00 to fix it. I had a hit and run several months ago and unfortunatly I have $500.00 deductable, but the agent said it would not change my rates since it was a hit and run. Mine was a major door ding, almost looked like someone shot it with a pellet gun and that cost $900.00. I could have had it done cheaper, but they repainted almost the whole side of the car. Did a great job.

btw: still checking the job posting at work. Nothiing yet.

I got 4 estimates yesterday. The cheapest was $2400. I was thinking of buying the bumper and rear quarter panel and doing it myself.
