Look for the "tourist" players who show little reservation about chasing draws regardless of the betting, especially at the lower limit tables like 3/6 or 4/8. Even if you're getting semi-decent cards, you'll more than likely walk away a winner to some degree. Most of these people haven't quite figured out that bluffing is pretty difficult in low limit hold'em, particularly if everyone has been watching them re-buy over and over again.

It's a wee bit different than when you're dealing with a table full of "locals" at someplace like Bay101 in San Jose.

yea cause the locals know how to play and will drop decent cards. I hate low limit tables cause you cant protect your hand, it sucks

Watching for their tells, etc. Watch enough movies like Rounders and you can gather some additional insights into tourists as well

Heh. Well, I have to admit that I play low-limit ring games more often than no-limit tournies because I'm lazy. Unlike when I'm in a tournament and paying close attention to the players, in the low-limit games, I'm basically just playing my cards.

There was this one time, though, at Bay101 when a guy had his girlfriend/wife sitting over his shoulder watching him play and didn't realize she was essentially giving away his cards with her facial reactions. It was downright hilarious and I know I wasn't the only one that noticed. Needless to say, he didn't win but a couple hands and left after losing about $250.

haha thats the easiest thing to spot are couples. its so easy to read the couples cause you read the person that is just looking at the hand and not playing. LOL i won atleast 80 bucks off of one person that was like that on friday night. i never show my hands, i hate it when people even stand behind me trying to peak at my cards.
