08/22 Track day: Sears Point with TrackMasters
WOW, what a day..... simply speechless....
Ran with the NASA ppl.... i don't care how much NASA chares... i will NEVER NEVER run with that group!!!
One good thing with NASA is that they do provide lots of entertainment.... I think every NASA session, someone was towed... especially those WRX ppl.... and they do bring in a lot of cuites... in the parking lot!!
the track is extremely technical for me... much much much more difficult then Laguna and TH..... too many turns... and too many WALLs.....
I had a great time... and a few more LS Z showed up.... well.. i won't get into the other story....
but a sad day for Ed...

Ed is fine... at least physically... i think... he will probably need some help restoring his baby... probably some group therapy wouldn't hurt...
Track day is not for the faint hearted ppl.... i need a track specific car!!!

VERY sorry to hear a fellow Z racer had an incident!
I sent 350ed a PM, as I'm assuming that he is the unfortunate driver.
I've run a couple NASA events at Mid-Ohio, and I doubt I'll run with them again. Too little track time for the $. For the same price they charge, I can get twice the track time with most other organizations.
Best wishes Ed.

yeah, one problem i see with NASA is that they put Wayyyyyy too many ppl in one group.
I also noticed the age group for NASA is kinda young compare with the TMR.....
but they do bring in the babe's for the parking lot show!!!
NASA is trying to upgrade their image according to one of the instructor.. i over heard a conversation at the lunch line that one of the instructor did not make it after the test.... Oh my........

Ed sorry about your car, I saw the tow truck tending to it when I was out for my session. Glad to hear your weren't hurt. I'd have to agree that nasa events are way too crowded, and the amt of off track excursions is unacceptable. Part of it has to do with the fact that Infineon is one of the more dangerous tracks and sometimes all it takes is one bad apple to make things dangerous for everyone else.
Believe it or not nasa is trying to change their reputation and they started off by sending us all to a full day training seminar and making us get tested and re-certifired at the track. Hopefully things improve but I never hesitate to give business to the smaller clubs out there like TM, SV, etc, who have great 'track' records. (no pun intended).

I was scared sh*tless not because of the track (what a fun track), but all the maniacs driving on the track. It's ridiculous to see that many people of different skill level and aggressiveness put together in one session!
What's really bad is that people aren't reprimanded enough for violations, so they keep doing it again. One of the guys in my session was warned twice about passing in no passing zones before he crashed his car in the third session. That's just stupid. He should have been taken off the track after the second violation.
