Default She's Baaaack!!

Sure, it was Friday the 13th, but Icy Z is finally home! Her right rear tail light isn't completely flush, but that will be taken care of at the 30-day checkup. Pete had taken her out for a 30-minute test drive, during which I think he must have had a lot of fun, because the fuel consumption wasn't very efficient, and the shift **** was twisted a little ... a sign that he was gripping it pretty hard. Fortunately, it was easy to twist it back into alignment.

It was hard at first to drive her, because, after having been in an Integra, and then a Focus, both of which had automatic transmissions, I had to get used to not only the power of a 350Z, but the delicate balance of clutch and throttle that is the unique hallmark of a manual transmission.

In fact, all night, I didn't open her up a whole lot. For one thing, at first, I didn't want to lose my friend trailing me in the Focus. For another, I had a passenger at all times for the rest of the evening, and I tend not to drive as quickly when I do have a passenger. But I'm getting back into the swing of things. Downshifting to second gear as I come out of corners is a real treat; no more bogging of the engine just as I need power the most.

I'm so happy she's home!!

Yes, but eyes on road this time, and probably not going as fast.

Good to hear Bruce!

Just in time for "the car wash"... and you can go ahead and put her name back under your avatar there...
