goddamn i hate the rain. got my veiside lip about 1 month ago and just broke it today.

Lets recap my watery misery:

1) 1year ago - Drove thru a puddle I couldnt see beause it was night and my amuse diffuser gets ripped off/destroyed.
2) 10 months ago - Hydroplane-to-Spinouty on i4 at 35 mph
3) Today - Right turn from 50 to avalon and my lip demonstrates clearly how weak cf is... again. (thru another puddle)

I don't drive in the rain, but that's because my tires are way bald and I go hydroplaning all the time unfortunately... Sucks about your lip!!! Is it repairable?

 

Bro i love they way your cars looks!.. but for a DD, and the bumpers/ lips your going threw.. need to raise that baby up some.

 

That does suck. I need tires and brakes still so I try to be careful in the rain, but sometimes it doesn't matter how careful you are - sh*t still happens. Hopefully it can be fixed - you may just have to paint over the work though.

 

Fortunately, the piece that broke off was the end cap (that end that you have to squeeze over each side of the bumper) and also the mounting holes on the underside of the bumper were ripped. so basically, I'll need to fab up some sort of brackets for the lip to bolt up too (among a jungle of 3m tape that i need to put in place). I may just end up dremeling the side parts tho so it looks a bit cleaner but im mainly concerned with increasing its rigidity now that the end piece is broken off.

NEva! lol thanks but I love the low look. I went with veilside because it sits higher than other kits but in the event i meet misfortune (again), i'm probably gonna go with a vertex lip.

yeah, tires were a main contributer to my spinout on i4. But the funny thing was I had tires in the mail coming to me that I had already ordered. Bad timing I guess. I certainly hope i dont need to paint it though. I might as well have bought frp and save myself a few hundred
