i'm thinking of getting a nice stereo system installed, but i dont want to lose what little space i have on my trunk. any suggestion on where to install my amps or subs and will it sound good. also where in hawaii can i get it done.

 

amps gotta go in the cubby behind the driver's seat. to save space sub(s) can go in an under-strutbar box:

thats what i did, and that price has actually come down $30 since i bought mine about a month ago. im very happy with the results

i will be there in month, you can check mine out if you want. I did lose the trunk space but i have the space from in back of the seats to the strut tower, which i think is more valuable anyways. Check my sig, no longer 3 w7s though, now i have 2.

I'd like to take a listen when it get's in. I remember your setup because it's rare to see 3 w7s in a Z. I've got 3 W6v2s and it's loud.

i originally went to nazar's location in NH to have 2 10w7s put in, and when i got there, they did not have the box cut yet, but did have a box for 3 10s. They would have cut the box for 2 if i wanted, but nazar gave me a great deal since he had never done 3 10w7s in a Z before. The problem was that i was running all 3 off of a 1000w jl amp, which means that the amp was running at 1 ohm and jl amps are rated for a minimum of 1.5 ohms. I could not push the speakers at all, they would just "pop" since the amp couldnt put out. I think nazar should have known/thought of this prior to install but oh well. I took it to tweeter and they knew what was wrong immediately. They built me a box for 2 10w7s with the correct mounting depth and dimensions because nazars box was way tooo small for 2 10w7s, nevermind 3 10w7s. The back doesnt sit flush with the strut anymore, but it still looks good and now sounds much much better. Only problem now is that my windshield rattles.
