Default Hawaii Performance

So it looks like a few of us here on the islands are going big or going for broke (or both). So I figured why not start this to help pass arrond the flame and see what's in the works. Not realy ment for a "ballz deep" type ongoing thread but more of a, "Hey this is what I have planned" for those who dont care to be long winded like some of us here (I realy dont know who that is though ). Any one know?

So give us a shout out of what your performance goals are and what you have/ have planned? We can try to help when ever possible. I will bow out of the first performance post and pass it on to Sonicz33 (Seth @ Sonic Motorsports)

So Seth since you popped out and spilled your beans, would you do us the honor of telling us what you got cookin over there at sonics with your red machine?

well the last time i told somebody about my TT plans that i was supposed to have last year it when to $h!t. so i'm a little reluctant to say what i'm gonna be doing cuz it might jinx it again but i'll just share whats going on anyways.

what i have now is -
nismo CAI
t pros test pipes
greddy evo2 exhaust
apex groundwires
tein s-techs
and some jdm sidemarkers

i've talked to shariff at forged and this is my list that i will hopefully be done by begining of next year -

greddy TT
greddy type rs BOV
CJM fuel return
RC 550cc injectors
walbro 255lph pump
JWT clutch/flywheel
AAM 3in TD exhaust
AAM down pipes w/ dump tubes
apexi AVCR boost controller
greddy turbo timer
e-manage ultimate(although shariff suggested UTEC)
AEM wideband
defi guages (boost, EGT)
tein flex w/ EDFC
cusco a-arms
cusco sway bars
and all the misc. stuff (spark plugs, harnesses, etc.)

and thats just stage 1. i'm gonna be doing a safe reliable 400hp daily driver with minimal track time and a couple weekend warrior stuff. i just dont want to blow up, but then again thats what i have stage 2 for. i'm gonna be keeping those a secret for now.

Still gathering up parts before I start the install -

things I have:
Turbonetics ST
-ceramic coated exhaust parts and turbo exhaust housing
-overboost fix kit.
AAM spacer and oil return line kit
Greddy oil block adapter for oil feed - not comfortable with tapping the sensor location.

Things I need:
misc gauges - Boost/Vac, Oil press, A/F (wideband), EGT. Currently looking at the Autometer Sport Comp II gauges and AEM UEGO Wideband gauge.
EMS - e-Manage, UTEC, Unichip, F-CON
- the reflash alone isnt enough. I'm waiting on more info on the Turbonetics 1.5 upgrade.

I think performance mods will be in the future for me, way in the future. I definately want to get a TT set up eventually but I'm doing aesthetic mods for now. As far as performance goes I currectly have

Motordyne Plenum Spacer
JWT Pop Charger
Ground

After I get some rims I'll probably get

Nismo Headers
Borla Exhaust
Cams

If I don't end up getting a body kit instead.

Seth have you looked into the ARP L19's you can get way 120 ft/lb's or more of clamping force to help prevent head lift. They are stock diameter but have the tensil strenght of the .5" ARPS (from what I've read) and they are only $40- or $50 retail over the OEM size ARP's. Good to see some one else is giving the Eagles a try too plus if you get them Cryo-treated and or shot peened they are much stronger.

Have you looked at the Head strengthing mod that overzealous has out. It has seemed to help some on issues they've had. Its real simple to put in you dont even have to pull the cams. https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ight=head+lift

Or the rear Cylinder cooling mod the Sharif has. Its actual a slightly modified OEM peices from nissan for the Truck that have the VQ. Helps get more flow through the rear cylinders. https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-drivetrain/195998-rear-cylinder-coolant-bypass-modification.html

They are both realitively cheap and seem to provide a good level of insurance.

Opinions on Zeitronix? I like the the idea of it being an all-in-one interface. has Boost, EGT, AFR, and other input/output data.

yeah we have an excellent shop here that has already built multiple FI Z's including a built VQ. its just that they @$$ rape you on install costs. lastnite i had an epiphany (sp?) that i would do the install myself but i dont think its gonna happen

yeah i do have a lot more planned but i'm not planning those untill late 07 early 08. i'm hoping to do it in that time frame so i can pay off most of the bills i'm gonna have.

oh and i forgot to add new brake pads and SS lines to my list. and tires.

It's doable, but figgure if you screw it up its on your head. If they screw it up, they fix it. But yeah its good to plan it out in a realistic time frame. It keeps you from going bankrupt.

Red face

well im not gunna go out and list specific parts, because im not any where near spending bookoo bucks on this thing. But this thread IS about what your specific plans are sooooooo...... lets read about my rediculous plans for a car that would take 100k to do.

JWT TT kit when it >actualy< comes available.
Motor built for high boost. >20PSI<
tranny swap to an auto-manual built for gobs of power.
final drive rear end ratio of 3.91 to 1.
performance LSD.
Carbon fiber anything on the car that can be CFerd. <hood, fenders, doors, rear hatch, front rear bumper> (maybemore)
racing seats.
roll cage.
deep-freeze system for the intercooler.
for suspention im not a huge buff on what springs are best and what suspension will have the biggest WoW effect, so i will leave this to the fact it will be addressed when the time comes, and the appropriate upgrades will be made.

at this point it gets a little rediculous.

motion sensors on the inside and outside of the car... <ill get back to this>
finger print reader
custom stearing wheel. buttons for shifting on the wheel at 2 and 10 o'clock positions.
ability to change drive settings from the engine management readout on the wheel. <you know... like what they have at Indy>

starter ground wire disconnect switch incab to go along with the finger print reader.
the security system while armed will monitor the motion sensors, if the car Moves without disarming the alarm <like if it gets towed away> the car will have its own cell # and call your cell to let you know the car is being moved while the alarm is active.

so yea, i get to spend my life savings on this car from now on.... or get MTV to pimp my ride the way i say. what ever...... this is what i would like to be able to do to it and i'll now

hope you guys dont flame me too bad for having big dreams

WOW man you are looking at easy $40,000 in aftermarket parts. This is definately a big project if you decide to go through with it.

Do you actualy have a line on the biometric security system? I've actual been looking for something like that that acts as a ground fault interupt and disables the ground when not active. It will definately take a computer or specialty control module. I've come accross the biometric IR scanners but no inerface software that will accomplish the tasks. Do you have a lead on a company or a product or is this just speculation.

The steering wheel jobber, Greddy has a button that can be set up to switch between maps. But im lazy I can just swith every thing myself.

Anderskorn.... you got the silver Z right? If so we've met before. When you were going out for a drive with the camera and I was taking my friends kid to the carwash. TeCKNeiC's friend, do you know why he got banned?

Hey you gotta do what you gotta do. Yeah I cand believe that G35 is winning the pole. Biggest thing he has is the body kit going for him. You think I should throw my hat in the ring? BTW I'll toss a vote in for you.

Hey DK would the shop on maui happen to be 1320? I know those guys hehe. I think I still hold the record of FIs though. In fact matt called me with questions on their first turbo install. Actually so did vakamon. I'm cool with pretty much all the shops around. The guys at 1320 are good guys though. Kinda hold a monopoly up there though since theres few shops.

Tomorrow I'll post up some pictures for all you to drool over. I have gotten back Mike's G from the body shop. The top secret wide body looks pretty dope. Also I'll post up the S2000 I'm working on. So you guys know not to race it because it's a Z stomper. Should put down 600whp.

Seth
