Mothers spray detailer and the claifornia clay bar has gotten hard water spots off my car after having it sit for ahhh say 10 months give or take a few weeks. Windows too. Id say give that a shot if the stuff isnt comming off with any normal means.
If you need it stripped, a hard dawn solution works. So does viniger and a news paper. Yeah I said it news paper. They are lint free, natural soy dyes so no chemical stains. The mild acid in the viniger will help break up a generaly base or neutral polish. It doesnt hurt your paint either.
Id say give either one of those a try.
PS viniger and water gets water spots off your car to. The calcium carbinate gets disolved by the viniger with our hurting the paint. You know how... viniger and baking soda fizzy fun.
